  1. 1. Novel Microfluidic Devices Based on a Thermally Responsive PDMS Composite

    Författare :Björn Samel; Göran Stemme; Jörg Kutter; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MEMS; microsystem technology; micro total analysis system; lab-on-a-chip; microfluidics; composite actuator; expandable microspheres; PDMS; poly dimethylsiloxane; disposable; wafer bonding; adhesive bonding; PDMS bonding; adhesive PDMS bonding; selective PDMS bonding; microcontact printing; Electrical engineering; Elektroteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The field of micro total analysis systems (μTAS) aims at developments toward miniaturized and fully integrated lab-on-a-chip systems for applications, such as drug screening, drug delivery, cellular assays, protein analysis, genomic analysis and handheld point-of-care diagnostics. Such systems offer to dramatically reduce liquid sample and reagent quantities, increase sensitivity as well as speed of analysis and facilitate portable systems via the integration of components such as pumps, valves, mixers, separation units, reactors and detectors. 2. 2. High cell density perfusion process development for antibody producing Chinese Hamster Ovary cells

    Författare :Ye Zhang; Vincent Bulone; Veronique Chotteau; Carl-Fredrik Mandenius; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; WAVE Bioreactor; Cellbag; ATF; TFF; hollow fiber; CSPR; CellTank; SUB; single-use-bioreactor; disposable; perfusion rate; Biotechnology; Bioteknologi;

    Sammanfattning : Perfusion operation mode is currently under fast expansion in mammalian cell based manufacturing of biopharmaceuticals, not only for labile drug protein but also for stable proteins such as monoclonal antibodies (mAbs). Perfusion mode can advantageously offer a stable cell environment, long-term production with high productivity and consistent product quality. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Deaf people and the labour market in Sweden : education - employment - economy

    Författare :Emelie Rydberg; Berth Danermark; Lotta Coniavitis Gellerstedt; James DeCaro; Örebro universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; deaf; deafness; labour market; employment; workplace; level of educational attainment; disposable income; sources of revenue; register-based information; Disability research; Handikappsforskning; Handikappvetenskap; Disability Research;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis focuses on deaf people’s educational attainment, position on the labour market and sources of revenue. These issues are interrelated, for instance a higher level of educational attainment seems to be associated with a lower unemployment rate and higher levels of income. LÄS MER
