1. Analysis of Dipole and Patch Antennas in Cylindrical Structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with the analysis of dipoles, patches, and aperture coupled patches located in an infinitely long cylindrical structure with arbitrary cross-section. The analysis exploits the two-dimensional nature of the structure by expanding all fields and currents in spatial harmonics along the cylinder axis, and solving the subsequent spectral two-dimensional problems by the moment method. 2. Next Generation Wideband Antenna Arrays for Communications and Radio Astrophysics
Sammanfattning : Wideband, wide-scan antenna arrays are a promising candidate for the future wireless networks and as well as an essential part of experimental radio astrophysics. Understanding the underline physics of the element performance in the array environment is paramount to develop and improve the performance of array systems. LÄS MER
3. Antenna Designs Aiming at the Next Generation of Wireless Communication
Sammanfattning : Millimeter-wave (mm-wave) frequencies have drawn large attention, specically for the fifth generation (5G) of wireless communication, due to their capability to provide high data-rates. However, design and characterization of the antenna system in wireless communication will face new challenges when we move up to higher frequency bands. LÄS MER
4. Antenna array systems : electromagnetic and signal processing aspects
Sammanfattning : A simple and commonly used model of an array antenna consists of identical sensors, which are equidistantly located along a line. But in reality the array antennas do not look this way. The elements are not perfectly positioned, and sometimes they are even placed on a curved surface (conformal arrays). LÄS MER
5. Planar Quasiparticle Mixer Structures for Millimeter and Sub-Millimeter Wave Receivers
Sammanfattning : The paper covers various aspects of integrating planar antennas with superconducting mixers in the millimeter and sub-millimeter wave regime. The construction of an 80-100 GHz tapered slot antenna and SIS mixer chip with a minimum double side band noise temperature of 240 K is described. LÄS MER
