1. Adrenergic control of small intestinal motility and blood flow : an experimental study in rat and man
Sammanfattning : Small intestinal motility in the fasted state is characterized by migrating motor complexes (MMCs). Both animals and man exhibit the MMC, which consists of periods of regular contractions, i.e. activity fronts, that migrate along the length of the small bowel and alternate with periods of quiescence. 2. Evaluation of the infrared reflection method for saccadic eye movement velocity analysis
Sammanfattning : Saccades are rapid eye movements that change the orientation of the eyes onto objects of interest. In an every day situation saccadic eye movements are used for e.g. reading, scanning objects and enviromnents. LÄS MER
3. Analysis of Electrocardiograms Using Artificial Neural Networks
Sammanfattning : Most conventional ECG interpretation programs use decision tree logic for interpretation of the ECG. The performance is generally good but can be improved. Artificial neural networks represent a new computer method, which has proved to be of value in pattern recognition and classification tasks. LÄS MER
4. Texture and color of potato products
Sammanfattning : Texture and color are the most important parameters in the definition of the quality of potato products, but usually their subjective measurements do not give any reproducible results due to the complicating factors related to human perception. In order to understand the factors that can affect the texture and the color of the potato products during processing, instrumental techniques have been developed for quantifying those parameters. 5. Quantitative electromyographic studies of the perineal muscles in normal subjects and patients suffering from anal or urinary incontinence
Sammanfattning : The aims of the study were to characterize the interference pattern in perineal muscles in healthy subjects with the use of quantitative EMG techniques, to evaluate if prostatic surgery had any effect on the interference pattern and furthermore to examine the interference pattern in the perineal muscles in patients suffering from urinary or anal incontinence. The interference pattern in the perineal muscles was examined with a computerized analysis, the Turns and Amplitude (T/A) analysis, and the innervation pattern of the muscles was examined with single fiber electromyography measuring the fiber density.
