  1. 1. The diverse functions of the ADAR enzymes : Editing and editing-independent effects on gene expression

    Författare :Victor Karlström; Neus Visa; Ayelet Lamm; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; RNA editing; ADAR; Alternative splicing; miRNA processing; neuronal differentiaton; molekylär biovetenskap; Molecular Bioscience;

    Sammanfattning : The adenosine deaminase acting on RNA (ADAR) family of enzymes consists of three members (ADAR1-3). These enzymes are responsible for the deamination of adenosine into inosine in double-stranded RNA, one of the most common RNA modifications in mammals. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Defining the role of CD47 and SIRPα in murine B cell homeostasis

    Författare :Shrikant S Kolan; Per-Arne Oldenborg; Mikael Karlsson; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; B cells; CD47; SIRPα; Follicular B cell; Marginal zone macrophages; immunologi; Immunology;

    Sammanfattning : B cell development is a highly organized process, which commences in the fetal liver during embryogenesis and in the bone marrow (BM) after birth. Surface IgM+ immature B cells emigrate from the BM via the blood stream to the spleen and finally differentiate into conventional mature follicular B (FoB) cells and marginal zone (MZ) B cells. 3. 3. CRISPR Screens Identify Candidate Therapeutic Targets in Leukemia

    Författare :Maria Rodriguez Zabala; Avdelningen för klinisk genetik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Acute myeloid leukemia; CRISPR screen; leukemia stem cell; cell surface receptor; metabolism; immunotherapy; CXCR4; GLUT1; TFR1; H2-K1;

    Sammanfattning : Acute myeloid leukemia (AML) is a complex hematological malignancy marked by proliferation of immature myeloid cells with a dismal 5-year survival. A major challenge is the persistence of leukemia stem cells (LSCs) after standard treatment, leading to relapse. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Cyanobacterial Uptake Hydrogenase : Regulation, Maturation and Function

    Författare :Marie Holmqvist; Peter Lindblad; Karin Stensjö; Kornél Kovács; Uppsala universitet; []

    Sammanfattning : With accellerating global warming and pollution problems a change of energy regime is necessary. Solar energy offers a clean and unlimited energy source of enormous potential. Due to it’s intermittenet nature solar energy must be stored - ideally in the chemical bond of a carrier molecule. LÄS MER
