1. Iterative and Adaptive PDE Solvers for Shared Memory Architectures
Sammanfattning : Scientific computing is used frequently in an increasing number of disciplines to accelerate scientific discovery. Many such computing problems involve the numerical solution of partial differential equations (PDE). LÄS MER
2. THz Ultra-wideband Passive Devices: Design, Simulation and Characterization
Sammanfattning : The last decades have seen an increasing interest in the THz research field, leading to a substantial improvement in technology and the emergence of new applications. In particular, the research on radio astronomy instrumentation has pushed millimeter and sub-millimeter technology boundaries and redefined state of the art. LÄS MER
3. Aeroelastic Concepts for Flexible Wing Structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis summarizes investigations performed within design, analysis and experimental evaluation of flexible aircraft structures. Not only the problems, but rather the opportunities related to aeroelasticity are discussed. LÄS MER
4. Live Streaming in P2P and Hybrid P2P-Cloud Environments for the Open Internet
Sammanfattning : Peer-to-Peer (P2P) live media streaming is an emerging technology that reduces the barrier to stream live events over the Internet. However, providing a high quality media stream using P2P overlay networks is challenging and gives raise to a number of issues: (i) how to guarantee quality of the service (QoS) in the presence of dynamism, (ii) how to incentivize nodes to participate in media distribution, (iii) how to avoid bottlenecks in the overlay, and (iv) how to deal with nodes that reside behind Network Address Translators gateways (NATs). 5. Time-Domain Antenna and Scattering Analysis for Micro- and Millimeter-Wave Applications
Sammanfattning : Telecommunications industries are investing tremendously to meet the ever-increasing demands for higher data rates and capacity. In particular to develop standardization for 5G, which is expected around 2020. The existing spectrum for traditional mobile networks is limited to highly occupied bands at microwave frequencies below 6 GHz. LÄS MER
