  1. 1. Predictors of disease onset and progression in early rheumatoid arthritis : A clinical, laboratory and radiological study

    Författare :Ewa Berglin; Solbritt Rantapää-Dahlqvist; Thomas Skogh; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Medicine; early; rheumatoid; arthritis; anti-CCP; antibodies; factors; radiological; outcome; disease; onset; Medicin; Dermatology and venerology; clinical genetics; internal medicine; Dermatologi och venerologi; klinisk genetik; invärtesmedicin; medicin; Medicine;

    Sammanfattning : To diagnose rheumatoid arthritis (RA) during the early stages of the disease is often difficult. The disease course shows great inter-individual variation from mild, self-limiting to very severe destruc-tive disease with extra-articular manifestations. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Aspects of Disability in Rheumatoid Arthritis : a five-year follow-up in the Swedish TIRA project

    Författare :Mathilda Björk; Björn Gerdle; Ingrid Thyberg; Thomas Skogh; Klas Rikner; Karin Harms-Ringdahl; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Rheumatoid arthritis RA ; disability; hand function; pain intensity; ADL; sick leave; prediction; Rheumatology; Reumatologi;

    Sammanfattning : Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a progressive disease, often leading to disability. Because the disease course develops rapidly during the first years after diagnosis, more knowledge is needed about the early disease course to minimize later disability. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Radical aspects on arthritis : the role of neutrophil generation of nitric oxide and superoxide in inflammatory conditions

    Författare :Jan Cedergren; Thomas Skogh; Tommy Sundqvist; Tony Forslund; Ingrid Lundberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neutrophils; reactive oxygen species; arthritis; NOS; NO; arginase; integrins; Internal medicine; Invärtesmedicin;

    Sammanfattning : The polymorphonuclear neutrophil granulocytes (neutrophils) are gaining renewed interest regarding their involvement in chronic inflammatory disorders, including rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Besides phagocytic and destructive capabilities, neutrophils have regulatory roles, e.g. by influencing responses from dendritic cells and lymphocytes. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Immune tolerance by interferon-alpha in experimental arthritis

    Författare :Jaya Prakash Chalise; Mattias Magnusson; Thomas Skogh; Richard O Williams; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Type I Interferons (mainly IFN-α & IFN-β) belong to a family of cytokines that possess strong antiviral and immunomodulatory properties. Pro- and/or anti-inflammatory effects of type I IFN have been observed in infectious diseases and several autoimmune diseases including SLE, MS, RA and experimental models thereof, but what defines either outcome is largely obscure. 5. 5. Biomarkers and mediators in systemic lupus erythematosus : IFNα versus the CRP response, and evaluation of suPAR and anti-dsDNA antibody assays

    Författare :Helena Enocsson; Jonas Wetterö; Thomas Skogh; Christopher Sjöwall; Søren Jacobsen; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a heterogeneous autoimmune disease which may affect multiple organ systems. Interferon alpha (IFNα) and autoantibodies that form immune complexes with nuclear antigens (ANA) are hallmarks believed to drive the disease into a vicious circle of inflammation, tissue damage, autoantigen exposure and autoantibody production.
