1. Tailored process gases for laser powder bed fusion
Sammanfattning : Metal laser powder bed fusion (L-PBF) allows for production of complex components using the energy from a laser to locally melt micron-sized powder following a layer-wise approach. Considerable scientific efforts are focused on addressing the influence of the process parameters on the melting stability and the control of material properties, while developing necessary monitoring and characterization tools. 2. Residual and critical saturation in geological storage of CO2 : results from field studies, pore-network modelling and laboratory experiments
Sammanfattning : Geological storage of CO2 in deep saline aquifers is a promising technology in the combat to reduce the atmospheric emissions of CO2. A critical component in this solution is the estimation of aquifer’s in situ capability to store CO2. LÄS MER
3. Percutaneous arthrodesis
Sammanfattning : It has been generally accepted that residual cartilage and subchondral bone has to be removed in order to get bony fusion in arthrodeses. In 1998 we reported successful fusion of 11 rheumatoid ankles, all treated with percutaneous fixation only. In at least one of these ankle joints there was cartilage left. LÄS MER
4. Oversampled radial basis function methods for solving partial differential equations
Sammanfattning : Partial differential equations (PDEs) describe complex real-world phenomena such as weather dynamics, object deformations, financial trading prices, and fluid-structure interaction. The solutions of PDEs are commonly used to enhance the understanding of these phenomena and also as leverage to make technological improvements to consumer products. LÄS MER
5. Recycling and durability of PVC materials focusing on pre- and post-consumer wastes from building products
Sammanfattning : The potential for recycling various polymeric materials contained within buildings constructed in the late 1960s and 1970s in Sweden was investigated during the course of this work. Three residential blocks were studied to establish the quantity of materials available for recycling, to investigate the difficulty in and time needed for the dismantling of the buildings, the degree of purity of the materials, and the possibility of separating the materials.
