1. High temperature corrosion during waste incineration : characterisation, causes and prevention of chlorine-induced corrosion
Sammanfattning : Waste-fired boilers suffer severely from corrosion of critical components such as superheater tubes. In this work the high temperature corrosion of candidate superheater alloys have been investigated by detailed laboratory studies and controlled field exposures in full-scale boilers. LÄS MER
2. Superheater corrosion in biomass and waste fired boilers : Characterisation, causes and prevention of chlorine-induced corrosion
Sammanfattning : Biomass and waste fired boilers suffer severely from corrosion of critical components such as superheater tubes. In this work high temperature corrosion of superheater alloys, and methods to mitigate the problem, have been investigated by laboratory studies and controlled field exposures in commercial boilers. 3. Coastal Communities on the Move : House and Polity Interaction in Southern Ostrobothnia 1500 BC-AD 1
Sammanfattning : This work attempts to seek new insights in understanding the archeological phenomena traditionally labelled as the western Bronze Age and the coastal Pre-Roman cultures of Finland (1500 BC-AD 1), by studying the phenomena from a socioeconomic interaction and practice oriented community perspective. The basic line of thought is that it was the everyday life of the local agents and their interactions that constituted the local communities. LÄS MER
4. Cereal husbandry and settlement : Expanding archaeobotanical perspectives on the southern Scandinavian Iron Age
Sammanfattning : The here presented PhD project explores the phenomenon of cereal cultivation during the Iron Age (c. 500 BC – AD 1100) in southern Scandinavia. The main body of the thesis consists of four articles. LÄS MER
5. Ultrasonic Fluid and Cell Manipulation
Sammanfattning : During the last decade, ultrasonic manipulation has matured into an important tool with a wide range of applications, from fundamental cell biological research to clinical and industrial implementations. The contactless nature of ultrasound makes it possible to manipulate living cells in a gentle way, e.g. LÄS MER
