  1. 6. Source Language of Lexical Transfer in Multilingual Learners : A Mixed Methods Approach

    Författare :Hannah Neuser; Maria Kuteeva; Philip Shaw; Camilla Bardel; Scott Jarvis; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; multilingualism; third language acquisition; lexical transfer; crosslinguistic influence; modal differences; proficiency; recency; exposure; psychotypology; L2 status; transferability; markedness; lexical organization; activation; lexical access; English; engelska;

    Sammanfattning : The study reported in this thesis investigates the source language of lexical transfer in multilingual learners using a mixed methods approach. Previous research has shown that the source language of crosslinguistic influence can be related to factors such as proficiency, recency/exposure, psychotypology, the L2 status, and item-specific transferability. 2. 7. Adaptive variational multiscale methods

    Författare :Axel Målqvist; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; finite element method; Galerkin; duality; a posteriori error estimation; adaptivity; variational multiscale method; mixed formulation; multi-physics; oil reservoir simulation; finite element method;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis we present a new adaptive multiscale method for solving elliptic partial differential equations. The method is based on numerical solution of decoupled local fine scale problems on patches. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Perception Creates Reality - Factors influencing the driver’s perception and consequent understanding of Driving Automation Systems

    Författare :Fjolle Novakazi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; empirical research; mixed methods research; perception; user perspective; information process; understanding; automated vehicles; driving automation; levels of automation;

    Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is rapidly developing driving automation systems (DAS) with the aim of supporting drivers through automation of longitudinal and lateral vehicle control. As vehicle complexity increases, drivers’ understanding of their responsibility and their vehicles’ capabilities and limitations becomes significantly more important. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Design for Perception - A human-centric approach to the design of driving automation systems based on the driver’s perception

    Författare :Fjolle Novakazi; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []

    Sammanfattning : The automotive industry is rapidly developing driving automation systems (DAS) with the aim of supporting drivers by means of the automation of longitudinal and lateral vehicle control. As vehicle complexity increases and update-over-the-air features are enabling continuous development of vehicle software and functionality, the driver’s understanding of their responsibility and their vehicle’s capabilities and limitations is becoming significantly more important. 5. 10. Technical Debt: An empirical investigation of its harmfulness and on management strategies in industry

    Författare :Terese Besker; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Developer Morale; Empirical Research; Software Quality; Technical Debt; Software Developing Productivity; Software Engineering; Software Architecture; Mixed-methods;

    Sammanfattning : Background: In order to survive in today's fast-growing and ever fast-changing business environment, software companies need to continuously deliver customer value, both from a short- and long-term perspective. However, the consequences of potential long-term and far-reaching negative effects of shortcuts and quick fixes made during the software development lifecycle, described as Technical Debt (TD), can impede the software development process.
