  1. 1. Improved mass accuracy in MALDI-TOF-MS analysis

    Författare :Martin Kempka; Johan Roeraade; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Analytical chemistry; MALDI; mass spectrometry; mass accuracy; peak picking; ion formation; proteins; peptides; chip; sample handling; sensitivity.; Analytisk kemi; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : Mass spectrometry (MS) is an important tool in analytical chemistry today, particularly in the field of proteomics where identification of proteins is the central activity. The focus in this thesis has been to improve the mass accuracy of MS-analyses in order to improve the possibility for unambiguous identification of proteins. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Molecular and epidemiological studies on eyes with pseudoexfoliation syndrome

    Författare :Amelie Botling Taube; Jonas Bergquist; Albert Alm; Eva Larsson; Hannu Uusitalo; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Pseduoexfoliation syndrome; PEX; aqueous humor; cataract; cataract surgery; lens capsule; proteomics; mass spectrometry; MS; MALDI TOF MS MS; quantitative proteomics; iTRAQ; dimethyl labeling; imaging mass spectrometry; IMS; time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry; TOF-SIMS; crystallin; epidemiology; risk factor; Ophtalmology; Oftalmiatrik;

    Sammanfattning : Pseudoexfoliation (PEX) syndrome is an age-related condition characterized by the production and accumulation of extracellular fibrillary material in the anterior segment of the eye. PEX predisposes for several pathological conditions, such as glaucoma and complications during and after cataract surgery. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Interfacing HPLC with MALDI- and ESI-MS for Automated High Sensitivity Analysis of Proteins and Peptides

    Författare :Tasso Miliotis; Lund Institutionen för kliniska vetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; automated; phosphorylation; ZAP-70; peptides; proteins; comprehensive; multidimensional; two-dimensional; piezoelectric; microdispenser; flow-through; ESI-MS MS; Capillary HPLC; MALDI-TOF MS; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The research described in this thesis has an interdisciplinary approach dealing with chemical, biological, and technical issues. One objective was to interface miniaturized liquid chromatography (LC) to mass spectrometry, i.e. MALDI-TOF MS and ESI-MS, in an unattended mode for high sensitivity determination of proteins and peptides. 4. 4. Sample Handling Techniques in Biological and Environmental Applications Emphasizing Biomolecular Recognition and MALDI-TOF MS

    Författare :Patrik Önnerfjord; Reumatologi och molekylär skelettbiologi; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; protein identification; microchip IMER; microdispensing; MALDI-TOF MS; fluorescence polarization; flow immunoassay; pesticide immunoassays; phenol biosensor; restricted access media; SPE; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Sammanfattning : The use of restricted access media and other stationary phases for clean-up and trace enrichment of environmental samples coupled on-line to liquid chromatography using diode array detection as well as thermospray MS is described. This on-line configuration was compared with commercially available ELISAs for the determination of triazines in complex matrices, showing superior precision and accuracy with the chromatographic method.
