    Sammanfattning : Antibiotic resistance is becoming an increasing concern, necessitating new ways to diagnose and treat it rapidly and accurately. One proposed solution is the use of nucleic acid amplification tests, capable of detecting resistance in just a few hours, as opposed to the several days that traditional testing methods may require. Sammanfattning : Nucleic Acid Amplification Tests (NAATs) with PCR technology to amplify DNA, are the golden standard for infectious disease diagnostics, but they require benchtop instruments and trained users to be performed. For this reason, we all had to send PCR test to centralized laboratories during the Covid-19 pandemic. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Molecular methods in malaria control in the era of pre-elimination

    Författare :Ulrika Morris; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Increased funding combined with effective malaria control methods for prevention, diagnosis, and treatment, has resulted in a 30% reduction of the global malaria burden over the last decade. As malaria prevalence declines in areas of successful malaria control, the proportion of subpatent infections that fall below the detection level of malaria rapid diagnostic tests (RDTs) and microscopy increases.
