  1. 1. Från system till process : kriterier för processbestämning vid verksamhetsanalys

    Författare :Mikael Lind; Göran Goldkuhl; Mats-Åke Hugoson; Anders G. Nilsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Business Process Reengineering; Total Quality Management; Process Management; verksamhetsanalys; processbestämning; verksamhetsutveckling; kommunikationsorienterad; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : I samband med systemutveckling och annat förändringarbete finns det behov av att göra en verksamhetsanalys för att utveckla kunskap om nuvarande och framtida verksamhet. Verksamheter är komplexa och ofta svåröverblickbara företeelser. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Evolutionary Dynamics of Mutation and Gene Transfer in Bacteria

    Författare :Peter A Lind; Dan I Andersson; J. Arjan G. M. de Visser; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fitness cost; bacterial evolution; gene amplification; mutational biases; GC content; synonymous substitutions; horizontal gene transfer; experimental evolution; Bacteriology; Bakteriologi; Microbiology; Mikrobiologi; Genetics; Genetik; Biology; Biologi; Mikrobiologi; Microbiology;

    Sammanfattning : The study of bacterial evolution is fundamental for addressing current problems of antibiotic resistance and emerging infectious diseases and lays a solid foundation for successful and rational design in biotechnology and synthetic biology. The main aim of this thesis is to test evolutionary hypotheses, largely based on theoretical considerations and sequence analysis, by designing scenarios in a laboratory setting to obtain experimental data. 3. 3. Exposure to Bisphenol A (BPA) and Metabolic Disruption

    Författare :Linda Dunder; Monica Lind; Margareta Halin Lejonklou; Lars Lind; Anna-Maria Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Bisphenol A BPA ; Endocrine disrupting chemicals EDCs ; Developmental exposure; Metabolic disruption; Adipose tissue; Fatty acids; Insulin secretion; Experimental rat study; Epidemiology; Medicinsk vetenskap; Medical Science;

    Sammanfattning : Metbolic disorders such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, liver lipid disorders and metabolic syndrome are increasing rapidly and have largely been attributed to genetic background and changes in diet, exercise and aging. However, there is now considerable evidence showing that other environmental factors, including environmental chemicals, may contribute to the rapid increase in the incidence of these metabolic diseases. 4. 4. Free Fatty Acid Receptor 2 - A G protein coupled receptor with unique signaling properties in neutrophils

    Författare :Simon Lind; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Neutrophils; G protein coupled receptors; Free Fatty Acid Receptor 2; GPR43; Allosteric modulation; Transactivation; Cross-talk; Biased signalling; Functional selectivity;

    Sammanfattning : The overall aim of the PhD thesis was to determine the role of neutrophil pattern recognition receptors in the initiation and resolution of inflammatory processes. Neutrophil pattern recognition receptors such as the formyl peptide receptors (FPRs) and the short free fatty acid receptors (FFARs) belong to the family of G protein coupled receptors (GPCR). 5. 5. Bird Vision: Spatial acuity and colour discrimination in bright and dim light

    Författare :Olle Lind; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Animal vision; Visual ecology; Colour vision; Spatial acuity; Spatial contrast sensitivity; Dim light; Visual modelling; Behavioural experiments; Birds; Psittaciformes;

    Sammanfattning : Birds use vision to guide navigation, foraging and mate choice, and studies of the limitations in bird visual perception are most helpful for the understanding of bird ecology. Here, I present four studies of bird vision in bright and dim light. LÄS MER
