31. Learning local predictive accuracy for expert evaluation and forecast combination
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of four papers that study several topics related to expert evaluation and aggregation. Paper I explores the properties of Bayes factors. Bayes factors, which are used for Bayesian hypothesis testing as well as to aggregate models using Bayesian model averaging, are sometimes observed to behave erratically. LÄS MER
32. Understanding Certificate Revocation
Sammanfattning : Correct certificate revocation practices are essential to each public-key infrastructure. While there exist a number of protocols to achieve revocation in PKI systems, there has been very little work on the theory behind it: Which different types of revocation can be identified? What is the intended effect of a specific revocation type to the knowledge base of each entity? As a first step towards a methodology for the development of reliable models, we present a graph-based formalism for specification and reasoning about the distribution and revocation of public keys and certificates. 33. The Emergence of Digital Institutions
Sammanfattning : Pervasive digitalization reshapes identities and processes of public sector providers, ranging from healthcare to education and justice. Recently, significant research attention has been given to such transformations, but still, there is more to learn about the mechanisms that may lead to the establishment of “digital institutions. 34. On specification and inference in the econometrics of public procurement
Sammanfattning : In Paper [I] we use data on Swedish public procurement auctions for internal regularcleaning service contracts to provide novel empirical evidence regarding green publicprocurement (GPP) and its effect on the potential suppliers’ decision to submit a bid andtheir probability of being qualified for supplier selection. We find only a weak effect onsupplier behavior which suggests that GPP does not live up to its political expectations. LÄS MER
35. Microstructure Evolution and Mechanical Properties of Haynes 282
Sammanfattning : Precipitation-hardened nickel-based superalloys find wide applications in aero engines and land-based gas turbines due to a combination of properties such as high temperature strength, resistance to oxidation and corrosion, fabricability, and creep strength. Structural engine components are traditionally cast to achieve higher degree of geometrical design freedom. LÄS MER
