  1. 41. Parameters Controlling Distribution of Diagenetic Alterations within Fluvial and Shallow Marine Sandstone Reservoirs : Evidence from the Libyan Basins

    Författare :Muftah Khalifa; Hemin Koyi; Joao Marcelo Medina Ketzer; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Diagenesis; Structural setting; Depositional facies; Basin thermal history; Ther- mal Hot basinal brines; Fluid inclusions; Raman Spectrometry; Stylolites; Hydro-carbon migration; Geovetenskap med inriktning mot mineralogi; petrologi och tektonik; Earth Science with specialization in Mineral Chemistry; Petrology and Tectonics;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis demonstrates that geological setting, depositional facies, open system flux of hot basinal brines and descending of shallow waters have a strong impact on the distribution of the diagenetic alterations within continental and paralic/shallow marine sandstones which in turn control the quality and heterogeneities of the reservoirs.Geological setting controls the mineralogical and textural maturity of sandstone, whereas depositional facies control the pore water chemistry (marine, brackish or meteoric), sedimentary texture and sand body geometry. 2. 42. Modulation of the deubiquitinating system in viral infection, lymphoid cell activation and malignant transformation

    Författare :Ulrika Rolén; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Most cellular proteins are affected by the conjugation of Ubiquitin (Ub), which may regulate their stability, activity or localization. The family of deubiquitinating enzymes (DUBs) removes Ub from conjugates and regulates the production and recycling of Ub. LÄS MER

  3. 43. Evaluation of regression methods for log-normal data - linear models for environmental exposure and biomarker outcomes

    Författare :Sara Gustavsson; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; log-normal distribution; linear models; absolute effects;

    Sammanfattning : The identification and quantification of associations between variables is often of interest in occupational and environmental research, and regression analysis is commonly used to assess these associations. While exposures and biological data often have a positive skewness and can be approximated with the log-normal distribution, much of the inference in regression analysis is based on the normal distribution. 4. 44. Brash Ice and Level Ice Growth, Effects of Snow

    Författare :Vasiola Zhaka; Andrzej Cwirzen; Kaj Riska; Robert Ettema; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; brash ice growth; level ice growth; snow effects; slush; snow ice; macroporosity; piece size distribution; Byggmaterial; Building Materials;

    Sammanfattning : Brash ice occurs due to frequent navigation in ice-infested waters, typically along established navigation tracks regularly maintained by icebreakers and harbors. The accumulation and consolidation of brash ice between two ship passages are influenced by meteorological factors including the cumulative freezing air temperatures, and the mechanical processes such as ice-breaking due to ship passages. 5. 45. Effects of Flow Structure on Particle Separation in Dissolved Air Flotation

    Författare :Måns Lundh; Institutioner vid LTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; plasma; Environmental technology; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp; Gases; fluid dynamics; plasmas; Gaser; fluiddynamik; Teknik; Technological sciences; modelling; retention time distribution; acoustic doppler velocimeter; flow structure; separation; water treatment; wastewater treatment;

    Sammanfattning : Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) is a separation process in water and wastewater treatment. The removal function is based on reducing the density of the particle by producing aggregates of the particles and added micro-bubbles of air, thus lifting the aggregates to the water surface, where they can be removed as sludge.
