  1. 1. The Problem with Errors : Solution Search in Platform Development

    Författare :Ramsin Yakob; Fredrik Tell; Lars Lindkvist; Carliss Baldwin; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Platform; Problem-solving; Decomposability; Solution search; Problem; Error; Plattform; Problemlösning; Nedbrytbarhet; Lösningssökande; Problem; Fel; Business and economics; Ekonomi;

    Sammanfattning : This dissertation is concerned with problem-solving in platform development. A problem isconceived of as an obstacle that needs to be overcome in order to reach a desired outcome,whereas a solution is denoted by the set of activities required to reach such an outcome. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Nitrogen and phosphorus dynamics across an elevational gradient in a Swedish subarctic tundra

    Författare :Maja Sundqvist; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Rising temperatures associated with global climate change are likely to drive major shifts in plant and soil properties as well as plant-soil linkages that govern key ecosystem processes in subarctic tundra. However, the tundra landscape is not homogenous, but instead consists of a mosaic of vegetation types which differ greatly in vegetation characteristics and soil fertility. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Functional Traits in Sphagnum

    Författare :Fia Bengtsson; Håkan Rydin; Gustaf Granath; Cronberg Nils; Sari Juutinen; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peat mosses; functional traits; NPP; decay resistance; N2 fixation; desiccation resistance; climate; Biology with specialization in Ecological Botany; Biologi med inriktning mot ekologisk botanik;

    Sammanfattning : Peat mosses (Sphagnum) are ecosystem engineers that largely govern carbon sequestration in northern hemisphere peatlands. I investigated functional traits in Sphagnum species and addressed the questions: (I) Are growth, photosynthesis and decomposition and the trade-offs between these traits related to habitat or phylogeny?, (II) Which are the determinants of decomposition and are there trade-offs between metabolites that affect decomposition?, (III) How do macro-climate and local environment determine growth in Sphagnum across the Holarctic?, (IV) How does N2 fixation vary among different species and habitats?, (V) How do species from different microtopographic niches avoid or tolerate desiccation, and are leaf and structural traits adaptations to growth high above the water table?Photosynthetic rate and decomposition in laboratory conditions (innate growth and decay resistance) were related to growth and decomposition in their natural habitats. 4. 4. Digital Product Innovation : Building Generative Capability through Architectural Frames

    Författare :Fredrik Svahn; Ola Henfridsson; Jonny Holmström; Sandeep Purao; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; digital innovation; product innovation; generativity; modularity; patterns; architecture; architectural frames;

    Sammanfattning : Over the last decades we have witnessed a profound digitalization of tangible products. While this shift offers great opportunities, it also exposes product developing industries to significant challenges. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Storage, landscape partitioning and lability of soil organic matter in permafrost terrain

    Författare :Juri Palmtag; Peter Kuhry; Johan Stendahl; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : Recent estimates indicate that soils in the northern circumpolar permafrost region store substantial amounts of soil organic carbon (SOC). This reservoir has accumulated over 10-100.000 years and is often preserved in a relatively undecomposed state because frozen and often water-logged conditions prevented microbial degradation. LÄS MER
