  1. 11. Toward a reliability framework for the observational method

    Författare :Johan Spross; Stefan Larsson; Fredrik Johansson; Rasmus Müller; John Harrison; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock engineering; observational method; Eurocode 7; structural safety; reliability analysis; dam safety; Bergmekanik; observationsmetoden; Eurokod 7; sannolikhetsbaserad dimensionering; dammsäkerhet; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Constructing sustainable structures in rock that satisfy all predefined technical specifications requires rational and effective construction methods. When the geotechnical behaviour is hard to predict, the European design code, Eurocode 7, suggests application of the observational method to verify that the performance is acceptable. LÄS MER

  2. 12. A Critical Review of the Observational Method

    Författare :Johan Spross; Stefan Larsson; Fredrik Johansson; Joakim Jeppsson; Lars Rosén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock mechanics; observational method; Eurocode 7; reliability analysis; dam safety; tunnelling; system reliability; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Building a sustainable structure in soil or rock that satisfies all predefined technical requirements implies choosing a rational and effective construction method. An important aspect is how the performance of the structure is verified. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Sliding stability re-assessment of concrete dams with bonded concrete-rock interfaces

    Författare :Alexandra Krounis; Stefan Larsson; Fredrik Johansson; Ignacio Escuder Bueno; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; concrete dams; sliding stability; cohesion; shear strength; uncertainty; bond; Byggvetenskap; Civil and Architectural Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : The shear strength of the concrete-rock interface is an important parameter in sliding stability analyses of concrete dams founded on rock and depends, in addition to the normal stress state, on the bonding conditions of the interface; concrete-rock interfaces can be either unbonded, partially bonded or fully bonded.In the Swedish guidelines for dam safety all dam-foundation contacts are treated as unbonded. 4. 14. Footwall stability in SLC mining

    Författare :Mikael Svartsjaern; David Saiang; Andreas Eitzenberger; Doug Stead; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis is based on a case study of the Kiirunavaara sublevel cave (SLC) mine. It focuses on footwall stability and damage development in the mining infrastructure on mine scale. Damage to the infrastructure is mappable for the full height of the footwall by access through decommissioned infrastructure associated with earlier mining stages. LÄS MER

  5. 15. Behaviour and stability of shallow underground constructions

    Författare :Jimmy Töyrä; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mining and Rock Engineering; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The growing needs of urbanization, like more transport possibilities, sewers, maintenance tunnels, the need of constructing shallow tunnels increase. By a better understanding of the mechanical properties and state of stress in the shallow parts of the bedrock it may be possible to determine which factors that are of importance at a specific construction site, and thereby increase the cost efficiency of pre-investigations and the tunnel construction.
