  1. 1. Assessment of rock mass quality and its effects on charge ability using drill monitoring technique

    Författare :Rajib Ghosh; Håkan Schunnesson; Nuray Demirel; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Underground mining; Sublevel caving; Rock mass quality; Borehole filming; Borehole quality; Borehole stability; Borehole instability; Drill monitoring technique; Measurement While Drilling MWD ; Hydraulic in-the-hole ITH drilling; Drill system behaviour; Principal Component Analysis PCA ; Geo-mechanical model; Chargeability; Fracture zone; Shear zone; Cave-in; Cavity; Rock blasting; Gruv- och Berganläggningsteknik; Mining and Rock Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : For an efficient mining operation, it is essential to have as much information as possible aboutthe ore to be excavated and the rock masses surrounding the ore. Geological information andthe content and distribution of extractable minerals, are central concerns for long term mineplanning. LÄS MER

  2. 2. A Co-Simulation Approach for Hydraulic Percussion Units

    Författare :Håkan Andersson; Daniel Leidermark; Kjell Simonsson; Daniel Hilding; Mikael Schill; Magnus Eek; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Sammanfattning : This Licentiate of Engineering thesis concerns modelling and simulation of hydraulic percussion units. These units are often found in equipment for breaking or drilling in rock and concrete, and are also often driven by oil hydraulics, in which complex fluid-structure couplings are essential for their operation. Sammanfattning : Prior to an underground excavation a site investigation is carried out. This includes reviewing and analysing existing data, field data collected through outcrop mapping, drill core logging and geophysical investigations. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Groundwater resources in hard rock coastal terrains : Insights into heterogeneity and spatial variability

    Författare :Robert Earon; Bo Olofsson; Okke Batelaan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURVETENSKAP; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; NATURAL SCIENCES; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Crystalline Rock; Groundwater Balance; Kinematic porosity; Groundwater Recharge; Water Security; Coastal Aquifer; Mark- och vattenteknik; Land and Water Resources Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Challenges regarding water security in hard rock coastal regions with limited soil cover are: a seasonal absence of recharge during times of peak residency, heterogeneity and variability of the fracture network, close proximity to saline water sources and spatially inconsistent storage and extraction. In areas where it is not feasible to connect residents to municipal water systems, a better understanding of the resilience of reservoirs is needed. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Reliability-based design of rock tunnel support

    Författare :William Bjureland; Fredrik Johansson; Stefan Larsson; Johan Spross; Lars Rosén; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Rock engineering; reliability-based design; Eurocode 7; observational method; tunnel engineering; Bergmekanik; sannolikhetsbaserad dimensionering; Eurokod 7; observationsmetoden; tunnelbyggnad; Soil and Rock Mechanics; Jord- och bergmekanik;

    Sammanfattning : Since 2009, design of rock tunnels can be performed in accordance with the Eurocodes, which allows that different design methodologies are applied, such as design by calculation or design using the observational method. To account for uncertainties in design, the Eurocode states that design by calculation should primarily be performed using the partial factor method or reliability-based methods. LÄS MER
