  1. 11. An Attractor Memory Model of Neocortex

    Författare :Christopher Johansson; Anders Lansner; Stefano Fusi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Attractor Neural Networks; Cerebral Cortex; Neocortex; Brain Like Computing; Hypercolumns; Minicolumns; BCPNN; Parallel Computers; Autoassociative Memory; Computer science; Datalogi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis presents an abstract model of the mammalian neocortex. The model was constructed by taking a top-down view on the cortex, where it is assumed that cortex to a first approximation works as a system with attractor dynamics. LÄS MER

  2. 12. On large-scale neural simulations and applications in neuroinformatics

    Författare :Simon Benjaminsson; Anders Lansner; Marc-Oliver Gewaltig; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of three parts related to the in silico study of the brain: technologies for large-scale neural simulations, neural algorithms and models and applications in large-scale data analysis in neuroinformatics. All parts rely on the use of supercomputers. LÄS MER

  3. 13. Late-stage 11C-carbonylation of drug-like molecules for PET

    Författare :Kaisa Horkka; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Nyckelord :;

    Sammanfattning : Positron emission tomography (PET) is a non-invasive in vivo imaging technique used for translational biomedical research and clinical diagnosis. A fundamental pre-condition for PET is the radiolabelled tracer molecule used in the emission measurement, and there is a pressing need to accelerate the development of novel PET tracers to meet an increasing demand from the healthcare system, academia and drug industry. 4. 14. Study and implementation of stereo vision systems for robotic applications

    Författare :Lazaros Nalpantidis; Antonios Gasteratos; Greece Democritus University of Thrace Production and Management Engineering Dept.; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Stereo vision has been chosen by natural selection as the most common way to estimate the depth of objects. A pair of two-dimensional images is enough in order to retrieve the third dimension of the scene under observation. The importance of this method is great, apart from the living creatures, for sophisticated machine systems, as well. LÄS MER
