Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis is to study how the Swedish working-class authors, and close friends, Eyvind Johnson (1900-1976) and Rudolf Värnlund (1900-1945) during the interwar period portray the individual and collectives of different kinds. The studied novels are Eyvind Johnson’s Timans och rättfärdigheten (1925; Timans and righteousness), Bobinack (1932), Romanen om Olof (1934-1937; The novel about Olof), and Rudolf Värnlund’s Vandrare till intet (1926; Wanderer to nothingness), De frias bojor (1931; The bonds of the free) and Hedningarna som icke hava lagen (1936; The Heathens who have not law). Sammanfattning : The aim of my thesis is to demonstrate how class was constructed linguistically in Svensk Damtidning (Swedish Woman's Magazine) at the beginning of the 20th century. Theoretically, I call for a renewal of studies of class, thus joining the traditions of post-marxism and feminism. LÄS MER
18. Sågarnas sång : folkligt musicerande i sågverkssamhället Holmsund 1850-1980
Sammanfattning : The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the public music-making by locals in Holmsund 1850—1980, and to explain the great variety of musical forms in hope to thereby illuminate the importance of local music-making for the workers' musical taste, but also how workers' musical aesthetics were affected by a more general working-class culture. The variety of musical forms is explained according to John Blacking's distinction between change of musical system, and variation and innovation within a musical system. LÄS MER

Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to discuss German Nazism and Nazi Germany from the point of view of two specific representatives, namely, labour and capital. This has been facilitated by analysing the content of the Swedish Seamen’s Union’s newspaper, The Seafarer [Sjömannen] and its union counterpart, the Swedish Shipowners Association’s periodical, Scandinavian Shipping Gazette [Svensk Sjöfarts Tidning], from November 1932 up to and including 1945. Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis is to analyze the political thought of Hinke Bergegren (1861-1936), Gustaf Henriksson-Holmberg (1864-1929) and Einar Håkansson (1883-1907), by focusing particularly on their articulation of anarchist ideas. The disseration follows these three Swedish left-wing thinkers closely, while specifically tracing ideological patterns in their published material, public discussions, speeches and other political activities.
