  1. 1. Nitrogen removal in treatment wetlands : Factors influencing spatial and temporal variations

    Författare :Sofia Kallner Bastviken; Karin Sundblad-Tonderski; Jos Verhoeven; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Wetlands; denitrification; macrophytes; nitrogen; nitrification; model; treatment wetlands; potential denitrification; Biology; Biologi;

    Sammanfattning : Decreasing the nitrogen transport from land to surrounding seas is a major task throughout the world to limit eutrophication of the coastal areas. Several approaches are currently used, including the establishment of wetlands, to decrease the transport of nitrogen. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Radar Measurements of Temporal Variation in a Boreal Forest

    Författare :Albert Monteith; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :LANTBRUKSVETENSKAPER; AGRICULTURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; remote sensing; temporal variation; tomography; antenna array; temporal coherence; Synthetic aperture radar SAR ;

    Sammanfattning : Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) on a satellite platform is a suitable technique for all-weather global monitoring of forest parameters such as biomass. This is important for increasing the accuracy of the global terrestrial carbon flux, the largest uncertainty in our current understanding of the Earth’s carbon cycle. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Persistent organic pollutants in the atmosphere - spatial and temporal variations

    Författare :Cecilia Backe; Biologiska institutionen; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; tropical and temperate regions; global transport; temperature; latitudinal fractionation; fugacity; soil organic matter; soil-air exchange; washout ratio; rain; precipitation; atmosphere; spatial and temporal variations; DDT; PCB; persistent organic pollutants; polychlorinated biphenyls; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Ecology; Ekologi; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Sammanfattning : In these thesis I have studied the spatial and temporal variations of PCBs in the atmosphere and in precipitation in southern Sweden. Further, soil-air exchange processes of PCBs were investigated. Finally, the long-range transport of PCBs and DDT was studied in the Baltic Sea region and in a tropical vs. a temporal region. 4. 4. Towards a minor bilingualism : Exploring variations of language and literacy in early childhood education

    Författare :Anna Martín-Bylund; Polly Björk-Willén; Eva Reimers; Diana Masny; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; minor; bilingualism; variations; language; literacy; Deleuze and Guattari; materialsemiotic; early childhood education; il literacy; language politics and language policy; minor; tvåspråkighet; variationer; språk; litteracitet; Deleuze Guattari; materialsemiotisk; förskola; il literacy; språkpolitik och språkpolicy;

    Sammanfattning : The aim of this compilation thesis is to explore variations in bilingualism with the help of everyday specific situations at a Spanish-Swedish early childhood institution in Sweden, and by means of a ‘material-semiotic theorizing’. This means that material and semiotic elements are treated equally and entwined. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Satisfaction with Public Transport Trips

    Författare :Roberto Fernandez Abenoza; Yusak Octavius Susilo; Oded Cats; Sigal Kaplan; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; customer satisfaction; public transport; three-factor theory; accessibility; built-environment; weather; door-to-door trips; firs and last-mile; market segmentation; geographical variations; service quality; safety perceptions; temporal variations; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science;

    Sammanfattning : Continuous urban growth, environmental issues, competition for limited space, longer commuting distances as well as the need to promote equity and equality in society are the primary reasons that make the improvement of public transport (PT) services a key policy area in many countries across the globe. Travel satisfaction measures the perceived quality of the PT service and it is an important aspect that operators and PT authorities need to consider when improving the service offered. LÄS MER
