21. Statistical advancements in analyzing accelerometer-measured physical activity intensity
Sammanfattning : Physical activity (PA) is widely recognized as an important factor in preventing and treating cardiometabolic diseases and reducing mortality. Yet, the health implications of specific PA intensities and the intricate role of fitness in the relationship between PA and health remain less clear. LÄS MER
22. Composite Likelihood Estimation for Latent Variable Models with Ordinal and Continuous, or Ranking Variables
Sammanfattning : The estimation of latent variable models with ordinal and continuous, or ranking variables is the research focus of this thesis. The existing estimation methods are discussed and a composite likelihood approach is developed. LÄS MER
23. A Composable and Extensible Environment for Equation-based Modeling and Simulation of Variable Structured Systems in Modelica
Sammanfattning : Modeling and Simulation are usually used to solve real-world problems safely and efficiently by constructing digital models of Cyber-Physical Systems. The models can be simulated and analyzed with respect to requirements, and decisions about their design can be based on this analysis. LÄS MER
24. Thermal boundary conditions based on field modeling of fires : Heat transfer calculations in CFD and FE models with special regards to fire exposure represented with adiabatic surface temperatures
Sammanfattning : Combining computer fluid dynamic, CFD, models with finite element, FE, models to calculate temperature in fire exposed structures can reduce design temperatures in structures while still obtaining the level of structural fire safety stipulated by society. A better understanding of heat transfer and the concept of adiabatic surface temperatures, AST, the transition of data between models can be simplified and more accurate temperature predictions can be made. 25. Inequalities in Health : the Importance of Material/Structural Factors and Psychosocial Resources
Sammanfattning : Socioeconomic inequalities in health are well-documented in most countries. Health differences have been shown to follow a gradient, where health status in average is somewhat poorer for every lower level in the social hierarchy. Notably, the welfare state Sweden is no exception. LÄS MER
