1. MAPK-associated proteins in Arabidopsis thaliana
Sammanfattning : Abstract Mitogen-Activated Protein Kinases (MAPKs) are signalling proteins that are highly conserved among eukaryotes. They are involved in many biological pathways including cell differentiation and response to different stress situations. LÄS MER
2. Reversible electroporation of Thai basil leaves as a pretreatment prior to drying
Sammanfattning : As commercial dried herbs are of lower quality than fresh herbs, it is of key importance to understand the effect of pre-drying treatments and drying techniques on the quality of the dried product. Several technologies are reviewed, focusing on their effects on aroma and color, with the goal of providing an overview of various technological strategies developed for improving the quality of aromatic herbs for industrial drying. 3. Refixation of respiratory CO2 in leaves
Sammanfattning : Photosynthesis is a vital process for trees, one in which CO2 plays a major role. At the same time, the tree’s own metabolism produces CO2. LÄS MER
4. New insights into the regulation of stomatal movements by red light, carbon dioxide and circadian rhythms
Sammanfattning : Stomata are small adjustable pores formed by pairs of guard cells that enable gas exchange between leaves and the atmosphere, thus directly affecting water loss and CO₂ uptake in plants. The current work focuses on the regulation of stomatal movements by red light, carbon dioxide and the circadian system and attempts to uncover molecular mechanisms that control guard cell function. 5. Aquaporin homologues in Norway spruce (Picea abies)
Sammanfattning : The recent discovery of aquaporins - proteins that mediate bidirectional passage of water over membranes - provides a molecular basis for the underlying processes in plant water relations. In plants, aquaporins are found in plasma membranes and in vacuolar membranes (tonoplasts) and are suggested to participate in dynamic operations such as cell elongation, osmotic regulation, and long-distance transport.
