    Sammanfattning : Perovskite based materials have great potentials for various energy applications and the search for new materials for uses in SOFCs has largely been concentrated to this class of compounds. In this search, we have studied perovskite phases in the system La2Co1+z(Ti1-xMgx)1-zO6, with 0  x 0.9 and z = 0.0, 0. LÄS MER

    Författare :Jens Pålsson; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; Motors and propulsion systems; Motorer; framdrivningssystem; Gases; fluid dynamics; plasmas; plasma; hydraulik; Maskinteknik; vibration and acoustic engineering; hydraulics; vacuum technology; Modelling; Mechanical engineering; Solid oxide fuel cell; Hybrid system; Gaser; fluiddynamik;

    Sammanfattning : Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) are a ceramic type of fuel cell operating at elevated temperatures. By utilising the thermal energy from the SOFC in a heat engine, a hybrid cycle with high performance can be achieved. One promising concept is a pressurised SOFC in combination with a recuperated gas turbine cycle. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : Most of the world's energy generation is based on fossil fuels such as coal and oil, which already today but even more in the future, will cause various problems. One issue is their limited availability, which stands in conflict to the increasing global energy consumption. LÄS MER

  4. 14. Strategies to Mitigate the Degradation of Stainless-Steel Interconnects Used in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    Författare :Claudia Goebel; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Dual Atmosphere; Interconnect; Deformation; Long-term; Solid Oxide Fuel Cell; Hydrogen; Corrosion; Cr Evaporation; Area Specific Resistance;

    Sammanfattning : Interconnects are a vital part of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC), where they electrically connect individual cells to form a fuel cell stack. They are a main contributor to the overall stack cost and the limited life-time of fuel cells, and, therefore, improvements carried out on the interconnect level could further the commercialization of SOFCs. 5. 15. Cr Vaporization and Oxide Scale Growth on Interconnects in Solid Oxide Fuel Cells

    Författare :Hannes Falk Windisch; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Corrosion; Interconnect; Cr Vaporization; SOFC; Coatings;

    Sammanfattning : The vaporization of Cr(VI) species and the greater electrical resistance caused by a growing oxide scale are probably the two most detrimental degradation mechanisms associated with the use of Cr2O3-forming alloys as the interconnect material in a Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC). High electrical efficiency, clean emissions and the possibility to utilize several types of fuels, such as hydrogen, alcohols and hydrocarbons are some of the great advantages of SOFC technology.
