Sammanfattning : The main purpose of this thesis is to focus on the children, by investigating whether various organisation models, integrated, interactiv and mixed co-operation, for co-operation between teachers and recreation instructors showed differences in regard to the children's development, well-being, and ability to absorb knowledge. Did various co-operation models for school/day centre affect the children's school performance, peer and adult relationship, well-being, and general school and day centre experiences? Were there any differences related to the school and living areas? Were there any differences between children with day centre experience, and those who had none when it comes to school subjects, school performance, well-being, self-confidence, and relations with friends? Sammanfattning : This compilation dissertation explores school results (or alterably, educational or academic achievement) at the Swedish lower-secondary level (Grades 7–9), particularly Grade 9 and to lesser extent Grade 8, using both aggregated data at the school and municipality level from Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) and similar databases (Sweden Statistics, Kolada), and individual data from Education through follow-up (UGU, utvärdering genom uppföljning), and the Programme for international student assessment, PISA (2018). Sammanfattning : Based on a poststructural discourse-theoretical perspective, the aim of this thesis is to critically examine the construction of the Swedish compulsory school’s democratic education and its consequences for the teacher subject, in educational policy texts. Set against the backdrop of what is commonly referred to as a crisis of democracy, the study takes its point of departure in changes in educational politics in recent decades and the new national curriculum for the compulsory school in 2011.
