  1. 1. Riverine nitrogen : Analysis and modelling under Nordic conditions

    Författare :Berit Arheimer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; INTERDISCIPLINARY RESEARCH AREAS; TVÄRVETENSKAPLIGA FORSKNINGSOMRÅDEN;

    Sammanfattning : The Baltic Sea in northern Europe is a brackish water body where eutrophication is considered a serious problem, partly as a result of high nitrogen load from rivers. This thesis includes statistical analysis of nitrogen behaviour in 55 small catchments. The results were used for further development of a dynamic model (HBV-N). LÄS MER

  2. 2. Silicon cycling in the Baltic Sea : Trends and budget of dissolved silica

    Författare :Liana Papush; Åsa Danielsson; Lars Rahm; Petra Tallberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :Dissolved silica; trends; nutrient; nutrient ratios; diatoms; Redfield; limitation; eutrophication; riverine load; budget; fluxes; accumulation; retention; optimisation; Baltic Sea; Löst kisel; trender; näringsämne; näringsämnens kvoter; kiselalger; Redfield; tillväxtbegränsning; övergödning; flodtillförsel; budget; flöden; ackumulering; retention; optimering; Östersjön; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP;

    Sammanfattning : The dissolved silicon (DSi) has a crucial role for growth of a large group of primary producers – diatoms and, hence, impact on functioning of the aquatic food web. This thesis contributes to an increased understanding of the modifications of the DSi cycling in the Baltic Sea. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Conceptual Runoff Models for Material Transport Estimations

    Författare :Rikard Lidén; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; teknisk geologi; Hydrogeologi; geographical and geological engineering; Hydrogeology; Conceptual Rainfall-Runoff Modelling; Riverine Material Transport; teknisk geografi; Geophysics; physical oceanography; meteorology; Geofysik; fysisk oceanografi; meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Catchment-scale material transport models are today important tools for water and environmental management. However, modelling of material transport is extremely complex due to the physical, chemical and biological processes involved. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Simulating Transport and Understanding Future Fluxes of Organic Carbon in Rivers Draining into the Baltic Sea

    Författare :Kim Dahlgren Strååt; Emma Undeman; Martyn Futter; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : Riverine organic (TOC, Total Organic Carbon) and inorganic (DIC, Dissolved Inorganic Carbon) carbon are the main sources of carbon in the Baltic Sea. While the importance of this contribution has been evaluated, there are currently several gaps in our knowledge of the mechanisms governing organic carbon dynamics in this region, especially for the particulate form, and the impact of future climate change on organic carbon transport. 5. 5. Algorithms for a Partially Regularized Least Squares Problem

    Författare :Ingegerd Skoglund; Tommy Elfving; Inge Söderkvist; Linköpings universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Least squares; Regularization; Block-matrices; Conjugate gradient; QR-factorization; Cross-validation; Numerical analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Sammanfattning : Vid analys av vattenprover tagna från t.ex. ett vattendrag betäms halten av olika ämnen. Dessa halter är ofta beroende av vattenföringen. LÄS MER
