  1. 1. Singular Fluxes in Ten and Eleven Dimensions : Sources, Singularities, Fluxes and Spam

    Författare :Johan Blåbäck; Ulf Danielsson; Niels Obers; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The energy content of our present universe is dominated by the dark-energy, or vacuum energy, which provides accelerated cosmic expansion. Dark energy has a possible effective explanation through a positive cosmological constant. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Modeling Carbon and Water Fluxes in European Terrestrial Ecosystems

    Författare :Pablo Morales; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; climatology; Fysisk geografi; geomorphology; pedology; cartography; Physical geography; water fluxes; climate change; kartografi; geomorfologi; klimatologi; marklära; carbon fluxes; regional climate models; vegetation dynamics; ecosystem modeling;

    Sammanfattning : The controlling mechanisms and feedbacks between climate, the carbon and water cycling and vegetation in European ecosystems have attracted much attention in recent years but they are still not sufficiently understood. A better understanding of them is necessary to predict how they will be affected by climate change. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Air-Sea Fluxes of CO2 : Analysis Methods and Impact on Carbon Budget

    Författare :Maria Norman; Anna Rutgersson; Erik Sahlée; William Drennan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; air-sea exchange; carbon dioxide; Baltic Sea; eddy-covariance method; inertial dissipation method; cospectral-peak method; Baltic Sea measurements; CO2 fluxes; Galathea 3 expedition; Baltic Sea modeling; water-side convection; coastal upwelling; carbon budget; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Carbon dioxide (CO2) is an important greenhouse gas, and the atmospheric concentration of CO2 has increased by more than 100 ppm since prior to the industrial revolution.  The global oceans are considered an important sink of atmospheric CO2, since approximately one third of the anthropogenic emissions are absorbed by the oceans. 4. 4. Turbulence Structure and Fluxes over Sea

    Författare :Erik Nilsson; Anna Rutgersson; Mark Kelly; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Boundary-layer; Air-sea interaction; turbulent fluxes; Meteorology; Meteorologi;

    Sammanfattning : Understanding the processes that control air-sea exchange of momentum, sensible heat and moisture (latent heat) is of great importance for atmospheric and oceanic modelling. In the atmosphere, for instance, cyclone intensity and track depends on these processes. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Nitrogen land-sea fluxes in the Baltic Sea catchment : Empirical relationships and budgets

    Författare :Hanna Eriksson Hägg; Christoph Humborg; Carl-Magnus Mörth; Hans Borg; Sybil Seitzinger; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Nitrogen fluxes; Baltic Sea; primary emissions; riverine export; Scenario analysis; climate change; animal protein consumption; fertilizer use; Environmental chemistry; Miljökemi; Applied Environmental Science; tillämpad miljövetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : In this thesis empirical relationships and modeling tools are used to describe the relationship between human activities and meso- and large scale riverine N fluxes from land to sea. On a large scale Paper I showed that by only having knowledge about human population size and runoff one can estimate the riverine export of DIN (r2= 0.76). LÄS MER
