  1. 1. The dynamics of red blood cells and iron status during infancy

    Författare :Marie Larsson; Lund Pediatrik; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Barnreferensintervall; Röda blodkroppar; Erytrocyter; Extremt för tidig födsel; Erytropoes; Klinisk kemi; Järnstatus; Ferritin; sTfR; Neonatologi; Pediatrik; Fetal tillväxthämning; Referensintervall; Pediatric reference intervals; Reference limits; Extremely preterm birth; Fetal growth restriction; Clinical chemistry; Iron status; Red blood cells; Erythrocyte; Transfusion; Ferritin; sTfR; Hemoglobin; Neonatal; Reference intervals; Umbilical cord blood; Infancy; Iron deficiency; Anemia; Acute phase response; soluble Transferrin receptor; Neonatal intensive care; Erythropoiesis; Birth; Infant;

    Sammanfattning : Red blood cell (RBC) and iron status biomarkers are commonly used in clinical diagnostics. However, interpretations of infant test results are inherently challenging. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Metoder att välja korrektioner vid fuktberäkningar med variabelt utomhusklimat

    Författare :Eva Harderup; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture flow; Moisture; numerical modelling; calculation model; moisture distribution; non-linear moisture flow; external climate; moisture calculations; corrections; Building construction; periodic boundary condition; reference year; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Determination of the design conditions for moisture resistance requires in a Moisture Design number of different moisture calculations to be made in order to determine the moisture status within, or on the surface of, a structure. The objective of this work has been to ascertain how to allow for variations in climate data in order to be able to determine the most unfavourable moisture status likely to be encountered during the life of a building. 3. 3. Contextualising studies in higher education : First-year experiences of studying and learning in engineering

    Författare :Max Scheja; Noel Entwistle; Stockholms universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Contextualisation of studies; Engineering education; First-year experiences; Intentional analysis; Learning in higher education; Education; Pedagogik; Subject didactics; Ämnesdidaktik;

    Sammanfattning : The study aims at investigating students’ first-year experiences of studying and learning in tertiary engineering education. At the end of their first year 86 Swedish undergraduates of electrical engineering and computer science at the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm were asked to reflect in writing on the conditions for studying and learning as they perceived them. 4. 4. Fat metabolism : A clinical and experimental study with special reference to newborns

    Författare :Gertrud Angsten; Karl-Anders Dahlström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; neonates; total parenteral nutrition; plasma and muscle carnitine; carnitine reference intervals; medium-chain triglycerides; Kirurgi; Surgery; Kirurgi; kirurgi; särskilt barnkirurgi; Pediatric Surgery;

    Sammanfattning : Lipid emulsion is an important constituent of total parenteral nutrition (TPN). In the investigations described in this thesis the effects of different lipid emulsions in neonates were studied. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Quantitative immunochemistry in tissue sections : With special reference to urinary bladder carcinoma

    Författare :Kenneth Wester; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Genetics; Urinary bladder carcinoma; immunohistochemistry; quantification; image analysis; Genetik; Clinical genetics; Klinisk genetik; Pathology; patologi;

    Sammanfattning : Urinary bladder carcinoma affects about 2 000 people in Sweden every year. It is a heterogeneous disease and for adequate treatment decisions, prognostic tools are needed. Many of these are based on immunohistochemistry (MC) and hampered by poorly reproducible methodologies and subjective evaluations. LÄS MER
