  1. 1. Moisture Transport in Porous Media. Modelling Based on Kirchhoff Potentials

    Författare :Jesper Arfvidsson; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture distribtion; wood drying; wood; diffusion coefficient; numerical modelling; moisture flow; Moisture; transient measurements; periodic boundary condition; penetration depth; sorption coefficient; non-linear moisture flow; calculation model; anisitropy; Kirchhoff potentials; evaluation; moisture transport; Building construction; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis is focused on the development of the new concept to describe isothermal moisture transport using Kirchhoff potentials. The first four papers deal with moisture transport in porous media using Kirchhoff potentials. The last three papers deal with wood. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Metoder att välja korrektioner vid fuktberäkningar med variabelt utomhusklimat

    Författare :Eva Harderup; Avdelningen för Byggnadsfysik; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; moisture flow; Moisture; numerical modelling; calculation model; moisture distribution; non-linear moisture flow; external climate; moisture calculations; corrections; Building construction; periodic boundary condition; reference year; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Determination of the design conditions for moisture resistance requires in a Moisture Design number of different moisture calculations to be made in order to determine the moisture status within, or on the surface of, a structure. The objective of this work has been to ascertain how to allow for variations in climate data in order to be able to determine the most unfavourable moisture status likely to be encountered during the life of a building. 3. 3. Retarded sorption in wood : experimental study, analyses and modeling

    Författare :Håkan Håkansson; Institutionen för arkitektur och byggd miljö; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Building construction; transient; non-linear model; swelling-shrinkage; latent heat effect; history-dependent sorption; anomalous sorption; non-Fickian; retarded sorption; measurements; moisture; wood; Byggnadsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : Models of moisture flow processes in wood are normally based on a Fickian approach. In many instances, there are considerable discrepancies between modelling and experimental results. It is shown in this thesis that a major cause for these discrepancies is a so-called retarded sorption which is not accounted for in conventional theories. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Continuum Mechanics Modelling of Corrugated Board

    Författare :Ulf Nyman; Institutionen för byggvetenskaper; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Material technology; assumed natural strain shell; failure criterion; lifetime; reliability; moisture transport; sorption hysteresis; corrugated board; hygro-elasticity; Materiallära; materialteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The storage of compressive loaded boxes in an environment with naturally varying humidity is a practical issue in corrugated board employment. Time dependent variables such as moisture content, strain fields, stress fields and material strength play important roles for the time to failure. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Studies on Building Air Leakage -a transient pressurisation method, measurements and modelling

    Författare :Björn Mattsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; air change rate; Airtightness; CFD-simulations; moisture transport; air leakage; mould growth; cold attics; transient pressurisation;

    Sammanfattning : Airtightness of the building envelope is a key factor for good performance of a building. The main part of this thesis deals with the exploration of a transient pressurisation method for air leakage measurements.In the transient method, an enclosure is pressurised to a desired pressure. The air flow into the enclosure is then stopped. LÄS MER
