11. Pyrolysis of biomass. Rapid pyrolysis at high temperature. Slow pyrolysis for active carbon preparation
Sammanfattning : Pyrolysis of biomass consists of heating solid biomass inthe absence of air to produce solid, liquid and gaseous fuels. In the first part of this thesis rapid pyrolysis of wood(birch) and some agricultural residues (olive waste, sugarcanebagasse and wheat straw in untreated and in pelletized form) athigh temperature (800ºC1000ºC) is studied ina free fall reactor at pilot scale. 12. Dynamik i fjärrvärmesystem
Sammanfattning : The purpose of this study is to gain understanding of the dynamic phenomena, which exist in district heating systems. Particularly, the importance of the network is noticed, where pressure waves and temperature waves play a major role. Most of the presented results are obtained by simulations. In many cases these are verified with measurements. LÄS MER
13. Rapid sintering of ceramics by intense thermal radiation
Sammanfattning : Sintering is an important processing step for obtaining the necessary mechanical stability and rigidity of ceramic bulk materials. Both mass and heat transfer are essential in the sintering process. The importance of radiation heat transfer is significantly enhanced at high temperatures according to the well-known Stefan-Boltzmann’s law. LÄS MER
14. Numerical Analysis of Evolution Problems in Multiphysics
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study numerical methods for evolution problems in multiphysics. The term multiphysics is commonly used to describe physical phenomena that involve several interacting models. Typically, such problems result in coupled systems of partial differential equations. 15. A Statistical Approach to Estimate Thermal Performance and Energy Renovation of Multifamily Buildings : Case study on a Swedish city district
Sammanfattning : Several climate and energy goals have been set in the European Union, one of them being to increase energy efficiency. In Sweden, a large potential for increased energy efficiency lies in the residential and service sectors, which account for about 40% of total energy use. LÄS MER
