  1. 6. Lignocellulose Biocomposites– A Comparison of Wood Fibers and Microfibrillated Lignocellulose

    Författare :Erfan Oliaei; Lars Berglund; Tom S. C. Lindström; Fredrik Berthold; ‪Maria Soledad Peresin; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : All-lignocellulose composites, meaning densified fiber or fibril materials without added binder, show interesting mechanical properties and can be eco-friendly. Composites based on hot-pressed microfibrillated lignocellulose (MFLC) and lignocellulosic wood fiber (WF) reinforcements are compared with respect to processing, structure, mechanical properties, and eco-indicators.     Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Wearables; Green electronics; Organic electronics; Conductive polymers;

    Sammanfattning : Flexible electronic systems such as wearable devices, sensors and electronic skin require power sources and sensing units that are mechanically robust, operational at low bending radius, and environmentally friendly. Recently, there has been an enormous interest in active materials such as thin film semiconductors, conductive polymers, and ion-electron conductors. LÄS MER

  3. 8. Thermal barrier coatings for diesel engines

    Författare :Wellington Uczak de Goes; Nicolaie Markocsan; Mohit Kumar Gupta; Rogerio S. Lima; Högskolan Väst; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Thermal Barrier Coatings; Suspension Plasma Spraying; Gadolinium Zirconate; Internal Combustion Engines; Engine Efficiency; Termiska barriärbeläggningar; Plasmasprutning; Suspensionssprutning; Gadolinium; Zirkoniumdioxid; Förbränningsmotorer; Motoreffektivitet; Production Technology; Produktionsteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The upward trend in internal combustion engine efficiency is driven by the demands for emission reduction and fossil fuel depletion. No present alternative fuel can produce energy comparable to that produced by conventional oil; this necessitates the reasonable, efficient usage of oil. LÄS MER

  4. 9. Eco-friendly Holocellulose Materials for Mechanical Performance and Optical Transmittance

    Författare :Xuan Yang; Lars Berglund; Eero Kontturi; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fiber- och polymervetenskap; Fibre and Polymer Science;

    Sammanfattning : Cellulosic materials can be sustainable replacements for fossil-based plastics; yet for some applications improvements are needed for mechanical properties, optical transmittance and eco-friendly characteristics. In this thesis, holocellulose materials are investigated for this purpose, and processing-structure-property relationships are discussed. LÄS MER

    Sammanfattning : A method for the calculation of the acoustic performance of open-cell foammaterials is discussed. From a known micro-structural geometry and theconstituent material, the relevant acoustic properties are computed using apreviously published analytical method for the calculation of the dynamicdrag impedance and a previously published method for the calculation of theelastic moduli.
