1. Vibro-acoustic modelling of anisotropic poroelastic materials : characterisation of the anisotropic properties
Sammanfattning : The present-day challenges in the transport industry, steered by the increasing environmental awareness, necessitate manufacturers to take measures to reduce emissions related to the movements of goods and humans. In particular, the measures aiming at a reduced mass or higher load capacity to increase fuel efficiency, generally deteriorate the noise and vibration insulation properties of their products. 2. Development and Applications of Surface-Confined Transition Metal Complexes : Heterogeneous Catalysis and Anisotropic Particle Surfaces
Sammanfattning : The main focus of this thesis has been directed towards developing novel surface-confined transition metal complexes for applications in heterogeneous catalysis and for the preparation of anisotropic particle surfaces. The first part describes the heterogenization of a homogeneous transition metal-based catalyst tetraphenyl cobalt porphyrin (CoTPP) on silicon wafers and on silica particles. LÄS MER

4. Micro-Structure Modelling of Acoustics of Open Porous Material
Sammanfattning : Transportation is a large and growing part of the world’s energy consumption. This drives a need for reduced weight of rail vehicles, just as it does for road vehicles. In spite of weight reductions, the vehicle still has to provide the same level of acoustic comfort for the passengers. LÄS MER
5. Micro-structural based acoustic modelling of anisotropic open cell materials
Sammanfattning : A method for the calculation of the acoustic performance of open-cell foammaterials is discussed. From a known micro-structural geometry and theconstituent material, the relevant acoustic properties are computed using apreviously published analytical method for the calculation of the dynamicdrag impedance and a previously published method for the calculation of theelastic moduli.
