  1. 1. IronArc a New Process for Pig Iron Production : A Numerical and Experimental Investigation Focusing on Mixing

    Författare :Kristofer Bölke; Mikael Ersson; Pär Jönsson; Stein Tore Johanssen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Mixing time; Penetration depth; CFD simulations; IronArc; Water modeling; Mixing time Experiments; Omrörningstid; Penetrationsdjup; CFD simuleringar; IronArc; Vattenmodellering; Omrörningsexperiment; Metallurgical process science; Metallurgisk processvetenskap;

    Sammanfattning : I den här studien så var syftet att undersöka omrörningen och relaterade fenomen i den nyutvecklade IronArc processen. Processen använder sig av gasinjektion genom plasmageneratorer för att smälta och reducera en slagg bestående av järnoxid. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Reactions in the Lower Part of the Blast Furnace with Focus on Silicon

    Författare :Joel Gustavsson; Pär Jönsson; Leiv Kolbeinssen; KTH; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; blast furnace chemistry; ironmak ing; thermodynamics; silicon compounds; combustion; fuel injection; mass balance; slags; pig iron; gases; droplets;

    Sammanfattning : The thermodynamic conditions for the behaviour of silicon in the lower part of the blast furnace have been the focus of the thesis. More specifically, the influences of temperature, carbon activity, total gas pressure and Fe reoxidation on silicon have been studied. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Quantitative imaging with PET : performance and applications of 76Br, 52Fe, 110mIn and 134La

    Författare :Mark Lubberink; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; PET; Positron Emission Tomography; Quantitative Imaging; bromine; iron; indium; lanthanum; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi;

    Sammanfattning : The use of positron emission tomography (PET) has so far mainly been limited to a few nuclides with short half-lives such as 11C and 18F. Certain applications require nuclides with longer half-lives, such as 76Br and 52Fe. LÄS MER

  4. 4. The Utility of Ultrasmall Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Contrast Agents for Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    Författare :Lars Johansson; Håkan Ahlström; Hans-Jørgen Smith; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; Magnetic resonance imaging; Contrast agent; Iron Oxide; Cardiovascular; Radiologisk forskning; Radiological research; Radiologisk forskning;

    Sammanfattning : The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the utility of the Ultrasmall Superparamagnetic Iron Oxide Particle (USPIO), NC100150 Injection for assessment of macro- and microvascular morphology and function using magnetic resonance imaging. The feasibility of NC100150 Injection was tested for the following applications: Coronary angiography, Thrombus detection, Cardiac function, Myocardial perfusion, Assessment of myocardial blood volume and water exchange and finally assessment of endothelial integrity of the myocardium. 5. 5. Proton Relaxation Properties of a Particulate Iron Oxide MR Contrast Agent in Different Tissue Systems : Implications for Imaging

    Författare :Atle Bjørnerud; Graham A. Wright; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Oncology; Iron oxide nanoparticles; USPIO; NC100150 Injection; water exchange limited relaxation; MR perfusion imaging.; Onkologi; Oncology; Onkologi; radiologi; Radiology;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge of the relationship between in vivo contrast agent concentration and magnetic resonance (MR) signal response is an important requirement in contrast enhanced MR imaging in general and in MR based perfusion imaging in particular. This relationship is a complex function of the properties of the contrast agent as well as the structure of the target tissue. LÄS MER
