1. Growth rate control of periplasmic product retention in Escherichia coli
Sammanfattning : The recombinant product is secreted to the periplasm in many processes where E. coli is used as host. One drawback with secretion is the undesired leakage of the periplasmic products to the medium. The aim of this work was to find strategies to influence the periplasmic retention of recombinant products. LÄS MER
2. Impact of glucose uptake rate on recombinant protein production in Escherichia coli
Sammanfattning : Escherichia coli (E. coli) is an attractive host for production of recombinant proteins, since it generally provides a rapid and economical means to achieve high product quantities. LÄS MER
3. Semliki forest virus-derived packaging system for production of retroviral vectors
Sammanfattning : Gene therapy is a treatment of disease by transfer of genetic material into somatic cells of an individual. Successful gene therapy depends on a delivery system which can efficiently transfer the gene into target cells and lead to high level expression of the gene. LÄS MER
4. Stress response and virulence in Vibrio anguillarum
Sammanfattning : Bacteria use quorum sensing, a cell to cell signaling mechanism mediated by small molecules that are produced by specific signal molecule synthases, to regulate gene expression in response to population density. In Vibrio anguillarum, the quorum-sensing phosphorelay channels information from three hybrid sensor kinases VanN, VanQ, CqsS that sense signal molecules produced by the synthases VanM, VanS and CqsA, onto the phosphotransferase VanU, to regulate activity of the response regulator VanO. 5. Streptococcus pyogenes secreted enzymes interacting with the human host
Sammanfattning : Streptococcus pyogenes is one of the most common bacteria infecting humans. One of the factors contributing to the disease-causing properties is the secreted streptococcal cysteine proteinase, SpeB, which degrades several host proteins in connective tissue and circulation. LÄS MER
