21. Heck Reactions with Aryl Chlorides : Studies of Regio- and Stereoselectivity
Sammanfattning : Homogeneous palladium-catalyzed Heck vinylation of aryl chlorides was investigated under air using Herrmann’s palladacycle and the P(t-Bu)3-liberating salt [(t-Bu)3PH]BF4. Based on the results, controlled microwave heating was utilized to accelerate model Heck reactions with aryl chlorides down to 30 min employing an electron-poor olefin and a mixture of an ionic liquid and 1,4-dioxane as solvent. 22. Selectivity in Palladium- and Enzyme-Catalyzed Reactions : Focusing on Enhancement of Reactivity
Sammanfattning : Catalysis has a profound impact on all living species on the earth. Nature’s catalysts, the enzymes, have the ability to selectively promote a specific bio-chemical transformation, given the required substrate. LÄS MER
23. MECHANISTIC INVESTIGATIONS OF TRANSITION METAL CATALYZED REACTIONS
Sammanfattning : Transition metal catalyzed reactions have had a large impact on the human progress for the last century. Several extremely important areas, such as the agricultural industry and the plastic industry, have benefited from this development. LÄS MER
24. Iron-Catalyzed Reactions and X-Ray Absorption Spectroscopic Studies of Palladium- and Ruthenium-Catalyzed Reactions
Sammanfattning : The focus of this thesis is twofold: The first is on the application of iron catalysis for organic transformations. The second is on the use of in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) to investigate the mechanisms of a heterogeneous palladium-catalyzed reaction and a homogeneous ruthenium-catalyzed reaction. 25. GALIELLALACTONE ANALOGUES – SYNTHESIS AND PROPERTIES
Sammanfattning : Cancer cells use normal cell signalling pathways in a proliferative fashion in order to prolong their own survival. Inhibition of one of the major signal proteins, STAT3 (Signal Transducer and Activator of Transcription 3) has previously been shown to induce apoptosis. LÄS MER
