1. Community and food web assembly on virgin habitat islands - The nunatak saga
Sammanfattning : The classical view of primary community assembly is that colonisation by plants is essential before invertebrates can establish. It has been recognised, however, that invertebrates can establish before plants, and that they may be important in the first steps of community assembly. LÄS MER
2. Modelling ice surface elevation changes in Dronning Maud Land, East Antarctica : Bridging the gap between in-situ and numerical model reconstructions
Sammanfattning : Ice sheets are an active component of Earth's climate system. Their topography influences atmospheric circulation and changes in their volume alters freshwater fluxes to the oceans, affecting ocean water masses, atmospheric carbon uptake, and global sea level. LÄS MER
3. Fjällen i Västerbotten och södra Norrbotten : anmärkningar om geomorfologi och isrecession
Sammanfattning : The results of the study of geomorphology in the Swedish mountains are shown in six maps at a scale of 1:250 000 and in the accompanying map descriptions. The mapping is based on the interpretation of aerial photographs and to some extent on field studies. LÄS MER
4. U-Pb geochronology of tectonothermal events related to the Rodinia and Gondwana supercontinents -observations from Antarctica and Baltica
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents data from two areas, Dronning Maud Land, Antarctica, and the Scandinavian Caledonides, Baltica. In addition, a comparative geochronological study is presented. The bedrock of Dronning Maud Land (DML) is dominated by migmatitic gneisses and post-tectonic intrusions. LÄS MER
5. Mountain centered icefields in northern Scandinavia
Sammanfattning : Mountain centered glaciers have played a major role throughout the last three million years in the Scandinavian mountains. The climatic extremes, like the present warm interglacial or cold glacial maxima, are very short-lived compared to the periods of intermediate climate conditions, characterized by the persistence of mountain based glaciers and ice fields of regional size.
