  1. 1. En hållbar trafiklösning för nya Slussen? : Uppfattningar om hållbarhet och hållbar stadsutveckling i Slussenprojektet

    Författare :Jesper Bjarnestam; Eva Andersson; Johan Jansson; Lennart Tonell; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; sustainability; sustainable urban development; sustainable development; sustainable city; sustainable cities; sustainable transport; new mobilities; planning; traffic planning; urban planning; policy; hållbarhet; hållbar stadsutveckling; hållbar trafikplanering; hållbara transporter; hållbar utveckling; samhällsplanering; stadsplanering; trafikplanering; fysisk planering; Slussen; Stockholm; Human geography; Kulturgeografi; Geography; Geografi; Social and Economic Geography; Kulturgeografi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis examines perceptions of sustainability and sustainable urban development among actors involved in the project of rebuilding Slussen in central Stockholm. Views on the suggested new traffic solution and what would make a sustainable solution, the concepts of sustainability and sustainable urban development and how these concepts are interpreted and applied as policy, are especially investigated. 2. 2. Influence of Sea Surface Temperature on Rainfall and Runof in Northeastern South America: Analysis and Modeling

    Författare :Cintia Bertacchi Uvo; Avdelningen för Teknisk vattenresurslära; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; kartografi; marklära; geomorfologi; Fysisk geografi; climatology; pedology; cartography; Physical geography; geomorphology; sea surface temperature; rainfall-runoff; Amazonia; precipitation; Northeast Brazil; klimatologi; Geophysics; physical oceanography; meteorology; Geofysik; fysisk oceanografi; meteorologi; Hydrogeology; geographical and geological engineering; Hydrogeologi; teknisk geologi; teknisk geografi;

    Sammanfattning : This work represents an amalgam of a group of studies with the purpose of understanding the influence of the Pacific and Atlantic sea surface temperature on precipitation and river discharge in Northeastern South America. Sea surface temperature is a good representative of phenomena such as ENSO that, in turn, cause worldwide climate variability. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Relationships between Atmospheric Circulation and Wind Erosion in Southern Sweden and Australia

    Författare :Marie Ekström; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; pedology; cartography; climatology; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi; Physical geography; geomorphology; Geologi; fysisk geografi; physical geography; Geology; sea level pressure; atmospheric circulation; erosivity; wind erosion; wind climatology; Scania; Australia;

    Sammanfattning : Wind erosion is a serious threat to soil resources as it causes depletion of the fine fractions that may result in a less fertile soil. Wind erosion encompasses several processes of which many are related to climate variables. To date, there is little work performed on how wind erosion relates to climate and climate change. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Leaf Area Index of Scandinavian Forests Methods Using in situ and Remotely Sensed Data

    Författare :Helena Eriksson; Institutionen för naturgeografi och ekosystemvetenskap; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Geologi; fysisk geografi; Physical geography; geomorphology; Geology; physical geography; leaf aggregation; specific leaf area SLA .; Växtekologi; Plant ecology; Leaf area index LAI ; canopy reflectance models; spectral vegetation indices; remote sensing; pedology; cartography; climatology; Fysisk geografi; geomorfologi; marklära; kartografi; klimatologi;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis deals with methods of obtaining the leaf area index (LAI) from remotely sensed satellite data. Initially, in situ estimation methods were investigated, since the accuracy of the remotely sensed estimates is dependent on the quality of these estimates. LÄS MER

  5. 5. Knowledge intensive business services in non-core areas : Preconditions and strategies for value creation and competitiveness

    Författare :Hjalti Nielsen; Institutionen för kulturgeografi och ekonomisk geografi; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; KIBS; Tjänster; Icke-kärnområden; Perifera regioner; Agglomerationsfördelar; IKT-teknik; KIBS; Services; Non-core areas; Peripheral regions; Agglomeration advantages; ICT technologies;

    Sammanfattning : Knowledge intensive business services (KIBS) play a key role in economic development. Due to the complex and collaborative nature of their value creation processes, it is conventionally argued that they depend strongly on physical proximity to large client-, and labour-markets, as well as on closeness to advanced knowledge infrastructures.
