21. Barns psykologiska reaktioner på användning av andningsskydd
Sammanfattning : Research on psychological reactions on wearing respiratory protective devices (RPDs) has been initiated only recently. Knowledge about children's psychological reactions is still lacking. The aim of the thesis was therefore to provide such knowledge in connection with the design of RPDs for use by children in chemical accidents and warfare. LÄS MER
22. Newborn respiratory support using distending pressure : the effect of interfaces and system design on performance and outcome
Sammanfattning : Preterm infants often require respiratory support after birth due to lung immaturity. The preferred method of providing respiratory support to breathing infants in respiratory distress is non-invasively with continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP). LÄS MER
23. Resistance breathing with PEP and CPAP : effects on respiratory parameters
Sammanfattning : Background: Positive expiratory pressure (PEP) and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) are two forms of resistance breathing used in spontaneously breathing patients. With a threshold resistor or a flow resistor, both PEP and CPAP provide a positive (elevated) pressure level during the expiratory phase. LÄS MER
24. Peak and Power Reduction in Multicarrier Communication Systems
Sammanfattning : Broadband multicarrier communication suffers from a large signal span, causing problems in both wireless and wireline systems. This is commonly referred to as a high peak to average ratio (PAR), and leads to a high power consumption, which is an important limitation in many communication systems. LÄS MER
25. Encierro y sustitución en El obsceno pájaro de la noche de José Donoso
Sammanfattning : The novel El obsceno påjaro de la noche ( The Obscene Bird of Night) (1970) by José Donoso is considered to be essentially governed by two semantic isotopies: the Enclosure and the Substitution. The Substitution is a consequence of the Enclosure, which is manifested as a reaction to the inhibitive effect of the Enclosure; in this way the polarity between these two governing isotopies generates a dynamic which permits both the development of the story and its interpretative coherence.
