11. Two is one too many : dyadic memory collaboration effects on encoding and retrieval of episodes
Sammanfattning : The aim of the present thesis was to investigate how individual memory potential in different tasks is affected by collaboration in social settings. Collaborative group dimensions were also studied: friendship, age, and gender. The principal comparison was between an actual collaborative dyad and the sum of the two individuals' memory potential, i. LÄS MER
12. Emotion and Learning - A Computational Model of the Amygdala
Sammanfattning : The amygdala is a small subcortical structure that has long been implicated in the conditioning of fear and other emotions. It is heavily interconnected to a number of both cortical and subcortical structures and is thus well placed to integrate sensory inputs from multiple areas to produce emotional reactions directly as well as influence learning and attention systems. 13. Spike-Based Bayesian-Hebbian Learning in Cortical and Subcortical Microcircuits
Sammanfattning : Cortical and subcortical microcircuits are continuously modified throughout life. Despite ongoing changes these networks stubbornly maintain their functions, which persist although destabilizing synaptic and nonsynaptic mechanisms should ostensibly propel them towards runaway excitation or quiescence. 14. Learning and memory in moths - plasticity in behaviour and neurophysiology
Sammanfattning : The moth, Spodoptera littoralis, was demonstrated to be a new model system for studying mechanisms underlying odour conditioning. In the experiments a restrained moth was trained to learn an association between a conditioned stimulus (CS) and an unconditioned stimulus (US). LÄS MER
15. Barns tidiga läsutveckling : En studie av tidiga språkliga och kognitiva förmågor och senare läsutveckling
Sammanfattning : The overall aim of this study is to analyze and describe the reading of a group of pupils in a preschool class and grade 1 and to search for links between preschool language and cognitive skills and early literacy development. A total of 49 pupils participated in the study and their literacy development was analyzed over two consecutive years in preschool class and grade 1, partly by teacher evaluations and partly by reading tests.
