21. Ultrasound prediction of large fetuses. Epidemiological and clinical investigations
Sammanfattning : The proportions of newborns with a birth weight (BW) >4,000 g and of macrosomic newborns (BW >4,500 g) have increased during the last two decades, parallel with an increasing maternal pre-pregnancy body mass index (BMI) and age at the time for pregnancy. Delivery of a large fetus, especially >4,500 g might cause perinatal complications for both the mother and her child. LÄS MER
22. Zinc Oxide Bulk and Nanorods
Sammanfattning : Zinc Oxide (ZnO) has many promising properties for optoelectronics, sensor applications, transparent electronics etc. To mention a few, ZnO has a large exciton binding energy (60 meV at room temperature) and a direct wide bandgap energy of 3.37 eV. In addition, ZnO is piezoelectric and shows more resistance to radiation damage than Si and GaN. LÄS MER
23. Learning by modeling energy systems
Sammanfattning : Meeting the 2°C climate target would likely require reducing carbon dioxide emissions from the global energy system to virtually zero within 50-100 years, and within 30-50 years for the 1.5°C target. LÄS MER
24. Multivariate linear normal models with special references to the growth curve model
Sammanfattning : The Growth Curve Model (GMAN0VA) introduced by Potthoff & Roy (1964) and two extensions are considered. The first extension treats a Growth Curve Model with concomitant variables whereas the second is applicable when different growth curves or when linear restrictions on the parameter space, describing the mean structure in the Growth Curve Model, exist. 25. Studies on growth hormone regulation of the CYP2C12 gene in rat liver
Sammanfattning : Growth hormone (GH) is secreted from the pituitary gland in a sexually dimorphic manner in the rat. This leads to a sexual dimorphism in the expression of a number of hepatic GH-target genes including members of the cytochrome P450 (CYP) family. LÄS MER
