11. Global energy transitions : Renewable energy technology and non-renewable resources
Sammanfattning : The global energy system is dominated by the use of fossil fuels. This system suffers from several problems, such as different environmental issues, while the long-term energy security is sometimes questioned. LÄS MER
12. Reading Development and Reading Disability : Analyses of eye-movements and word recognition
Sammanfattning : The primary ambition of this doctoral thesis is to provide an empirical basis for a better understanding of reading disability among school children. The current consensus in the research community is that most disabled readers fail in the acquisition of fast, accurate and automatic word recognition. LÄS MER
13. Growth and morbidity in extreme preterm born infants
Sammanfattning : Background: Rapid development in neonatal care during the past years has significantly improved long-term survival of extreme preterm born (EPB) infants creating a population of children with a high frequency of disabilities. Being lighter and shorter, as compared to full-term (FT) born child, predisposes the EPB infants to intensive nutritional interventions aiming for growth-promoting effect. LÄS MER
14. Lubricants influence on wear in sharp rail curves
Sammanfattning : Rail lubrication in curves was widely introduced in Sweden during the 1970’s due to the high wear rate of gauge faces in sharp curves. The first tests performed in Sweden showed that lubrication decreased wear rates by roughly 10 times. Based upon these results, the Swedish track system was equipped with wayside lubricators called Clicomatic. LÄS MER
15. Critical Moisture Conditions for Mould Growth on Building Materials
Sammanfattning : Materials that are stored or used in damp climates may be subject to mould growth. However, all materials are not equally susceptible to mould growth. For each specific material, there is a critical moisture level. If this is exceeded, there is a risk that mould fungi will develop on the material. LÄS MER
