21. Further delineation of molecular alterations in adreno-medullary tumors
Sammanfattning : Pheochromocytomas, abdominal paragangliomas and neuroblastomas are tumors of the sympathetic nervous system. Anatomically pheochromocytomas and abdominal paragangliomas arise from sympathoadrenal paraganglia, within and outside the adrenal medulla, respectively. LÄS MER
22. The effect of chronic alcoholism on epigenetic patterns regulating gene expression and neurodegeneration in the human brain
Sammanfattning : Chronic alcoholism causes about 3.2% of all deaths worldwide. It has an association to about 60 different diseases and injuries with enormous social and economical impact. Despite these facts, very few pharmacological treatments exist and we can still not explain the mechanisms behind addiction, craving and cognitive impairments seen in the abuser. LÄS MER
23. Prognostic and biological implications of epigenetic changes in leukemia
Sammanfattning : The field of epigenetic research in hematology and oncology is rapidly expanding. Even so, reliable data linking epigenetic changes to clinical outcomes are scarce. We conducted two retrospective studies in AML. LÄS MER
24. Epigenomic landscape of Arabidopsis thaliana
Sammanfattning : The basal unit of information storage in the cell is at the level of the DNA sequence. Dynamic packaging of DNA into chromatin allows additional regulatory layers. Two pairs of each histones H3, H4, H2A and H2B constitute an octamer around which about 146 base pairs of DNA are wrapped to build the basic unit of chromatin: the nucleosome. LÄS MER
25. Behavioral changes and mechanisms : an experimental study on aging in rodents
Sammanfattning : In paper I, we studied alterations in behavior with advancing age in female C57BL/6 mice (of Jackson origin). In parallel, growth and survival data were collected. In a protected environment the median survival age was 32 months. Our behavioral data show that aging modulates certain aspects of basic behavior in a continuous manner. LÄS MER
