16. Filamin A in Cardiovascular Remodeling
Sammanfattning : Filamin A (FLNA) is a large actin-binding cytoskeletal protein that stabilizes actin networks and integrates them with cell membranes. FLNA is therefore important for cell motility and organ development. LÄS MER
17. Dissociative Recombination of Astrochemically Interesting Ions
Sammanfattning : In this thesis the major work described concerns experimental determination of the dissociative recombination (DR) reaction for several molecular ions of astrochemical interest. DR is the process where an electron recombines with a molecular ion to form an excited neutral that disintegrates into two or more neutral fragments to release the gained excess energy. LÄS MER
18. Neural networks in context: challenges and opportunities : a critical inquiry into prerequisites for user trust in decisions promoted by neural networks
Sammanfattning : Artificial intelligence and machine learning (ML) in particular increasingly impact human life by creating value from collected data. This assetisation affects all aspectsof human life, from choosing a significant other to recommending a product for us to consume. LÄS MER
19. Use of microbiomics to study human impacts on complex microbial communities
Sammanfattning : The study of bacterial communities in nature is currently a challenge. The majority of bacteria in clinical and environmental samples have not yet been cultured and therefore we cannot fully understand their roles in nature and how the ecological balance in a specific microbial ecosystem can be disrupted. 20. Novel Procedures for Identification and Characterization of Viral Proteases Inhibitors
Sammanfattning : Viral proteases are often considered to be attractive drug targets because of their crucial function in the viral replication machinery. In order to increase our knowledge of these important targets and to contribute to the discovery and development of new antiviral drugs, the proteases from hepatitis C virus (HCV) and human cytomegalovirus (HCMV) have been produced and their interactions with inhibitors and fragments have been characterized, using enzyme inhibition and SPR biosensor based interaction assay.
