16. High-Performance Composites from Modified Wood Fiber
Sammanfattning : The objective of this work was to produce and evaluate high-performance wood fiber composites. High-performance was defined as: high dimensional stability and a high durability, including resistance to wood-decaying organisms (fungi, bacteria, and insects). LÄS MER
17. Biobased carbon fibers from solution spun lignocellulosic precursors
Sammanfattning : Carbon fibers (CFs) have excellent mechanical properties and a low density, making themattractive as a reinforcing fiber in composites. The use of CFs is limited to high-end applications, since they are produced from an expensive fossil-based precursor via an energy-intensivemanufacturing process, explaining the need for cheaper CFs from renewables. 18. Advanced all-fiber optofluidic devices
Sammanfattning : Significant technological advances of the last years have been possible by developments in Optofluidics, which is a field that deals with the integration of optics and microfluidics into single devices. The work described in this thesis is based on five scientific publications related to the use of fiber optic technology to build integrated optofluidic devices. 19. The influence of Morphology on the Transport and Mechanical Properties of Polyethylene
Sammanfattning : The sorption/desorption behaviour of n-hexane in high molarmass linear polyethylene (PE) and branched PEs with 0.39 and5.09 hexyl branches per 100 main chain C atoms andcrystallinities between 4 and 82% at 298 K has been studied.Crystal core contents determined by Raman spectroscopy werealways lower than those determined by density measurements. 20. Rheological Properties of Microfibrillated Cellulose
Sammanfattning : Cellulose has for a long time been used by man. It is renewable and an easily recyclable resource. Mostly it has been used in either its native form as wood or in the form of fibres. LÄS MER
