1. Adenovirus vector systems permitting regulated protein expression and their use for in vivo splicing studies
Sammanfattning : We have constructed two adenovirus-based gene expression vector systems permitting regulated protein expression. They are based on the tetracycline-regulated Tet-ON- and the progesterone antagonist RU 486-regulated gene expression systems, which were rescued into E1-deficient adenovirus vectors. LÄS MER
2. Expression and processing of cecropin and attacin using a baculovirus vector
Sammanfattning : The cecropins and attacins are two antibacterial peptides induced uponimmunization in the moth Hyalophora cecropia. They are both synthesized aspreproproteins that are processed and post-translationally modified along the exportpathway. LÄS MER
3. Replication-competent adenovirus 11p vector as a new oncolytic agent
Sammanfattning : Human adenoviruses (Ads) as vectors have been studied for cancer gene therapy for several decades due to their ability to shut down host cell replication and lyse tumour cells. Ad5 of species C is commonly used as a replication-defective or a replication-competent vector. LÄS MER
4. Propionibacterium acnes and its phages
Sammanfattning : Microorganisms are everywhere! They can tolerate many diverse extreme environments, such as the human body. Even though many of us might associate the word microorganism with infections and disease, most are actually either harmless or even beneficial for us. LÄS MER
5. Development of Gene Therapy for Hematopoietic Stem Cells using Lentiviral Vectors
Sammanfattning : Hematopoietic stem cells are an ideal target for genetic manipulation for the purpose of curing hematological disorders as they have the ability to develop into all blood lineages and to self-renew. In this study we demonstrate that lentiviral vectors, based on HIV-1, can efficiently transfer genes into human hematopoietic progenitor and stem cells as assessed following stem cell transplantation in immune compromised mice.
