  1. 21. Heat decarbonization in municipalities - Accounting for the local spatial context in techno-economic modeling

    Författare :Hyunkyo Yu; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; optimization; spatial analysis; Participatory modeling; local heat decarbonization; energy transition;

    Sammanfattning : In Europe, 57% of the energy used for space and water heating is derived from the combustion of fossil fuels, whereas only 24% comes from renewables. Compared to the wide-reaching transmission of electricity between countries, the supply of heat predominantly occurs at the local or individual level. LÄS MER

  2. 22. Buildings' Transition to Active Nodes: Assessing the Viability of DC Distribution, PV and Battery Storage

    Författare :Patrik Ollas; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Buildings; Battery storage; Energy management; Solar photovoltaic; Direct current;

    Sammanfattning : Historically, buildings have been passive nodes in the electric grid system with one-way power flows. However, with the recent market development of solar photovoltaic (PV) and stationary behind-the-meter battery storage systems, buildings are now transitioning to active nodes, offering bi-directional power flows. 3. 23. Investigation into sustainable energy systems in Nordic municipalities

    Författare :Robert Fischer; Andrea Toffolo; Erik Elfgren; Danica Djuric Ilic; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Renewable energy sources; Nordic municipalities; municipal energy system; electrified transport; biofuels; multi-objective optimization; EnergyPLAN; Energiteknik; Energy Engineering;

    Sammanfattning : Municipal energy systems in Nordic environments face multiple challenges: the cold climate, large-scale industries, a high share of electric heating and long distances drive energy consumption. While actions on the demand side minimize energy use, decarbonization efforts in mining, industries, the heating and the transport sector can increase the consumption of electricity and biofuels. 4. 24. Increasing the hosting capacity of distributed energy resources using storage and communication

    Författare :Nicholas Etherden; Sami Repo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Renewable Energy Generation; Energy Storage; Hosting Capacity; Curtailment; Demand Response; Dynamic Line Rating; Power System Communication; Smart Grid; Förnyelsebara energikällor; Energilagring; Acceptansgräns; Kommunikation i kraftsystem; Smarta elnät; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The use of electricity from Distributed Energy Resources like wind and solar powerwill impact the performance of the electricity network and this sets a limit to theamount of such renewables that can be connected. Investment in energy storage andcommunication technologies enables more renewables by operating the networkcloser to its limits. LÄS MER

  5. 25. Understanding Energy Behaviour – A Necessity for Supporting Domestic Energy Conservation through Design

    Författare :Anneli Selvefors; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; HUMANIORA; HUMANITIES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Energy conservation; energy behaviour; domestic energy consumption; design for sustainable behaviour; energy feedback;

    Sammanfattning : Domestic energy consumption is continuing to increase and the need to decrease consumption is growing more evident. In this research, two studies were conducted to further the understanding of domestic energy behaviour and increase the knowledge of how energy conservation can be supported. LÄS MER
