  1. 1. Improved Self-Consumption of Photovoltaic Electricity in Buildings : Storage, Curtailment and Grid Simulations

    Författare :Rasmus Luthander; Joakim Widén; Joakim Munkhammar; Ewa Wäckelgård; Nicholas Etherden; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Photovoltaics; Solar energy; Self-consumption; Grid integration; Distributed generation; Energy storage; Curtailment; Power system; Engineering Science with specialization in Solid State Physics; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot fasta tillståndets fysik;

    Sammanfattning : The global market for photovoltaics (PV) has increased rapidly: during 2014, 44 times more was installed than in 2004, partly due to a price reduction of 60-70% during the same time period. Economic support schemes that were needed to make PV competitive on the electricity market have gradually decreased and self-consumption of PV electricity is becoming more interesting internationally from an economic perspective. 2. 2. Self-Consumption of Photovoltaic Electricity in Residential Buildings

    Författare :Rasmus Luthander; Joakim Widén; Joakim Munkhammar; Ewa Wäckelgård; Bernhard Wille-Haussmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Photovoltaics; Solar energy; Self-consumption; Grid integration; Distributed generation; Energy storage; Curtailment; Power system; Engineering Science; Teknisk fysik;

    Sammanfattning : Worldwide installations of photovoltaics (PV) have increased rapidly due to national subsidies and decreasing prices. One important market segment is building-applied PV systems, for which the generated electricity can be self-consumed. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Increasing the hosting capacity of distributed energy resources using storage and communication

    Författare :Nicholas Etherden; Sami Repo; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Renewable Energy Generation; Energy Storage; Hosting Capacity; Curtailment; Demand Response; Dynamic Line Rating; Power System Communication; Smart Grid; Förnyelsebara energikällor; Energilagring; Acceptansgräns; Kommunikation i kraftsystem; Smarta elnät; Energy Engineering; Energiteknik; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik;

    Sammanfattning : The use of electricity from Distributed Energy Resources like wind and solar powerwill impact the performance of the electricity network and this sets a limit to theamount of such renewables that can be connected. Investment in energy storage andcommunication technologies enables more renewables by operating the networkcloser to its limits. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Increasing the hosting capacity of distributed energy resources using storage and communication

    Författare :Nicholas Etherden; Joao A Peças Lopes; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Nyckelord :TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electric Power Systems; Renewable Energy; Energy Storage; Hosting Capacity; Curtailment; Power Utility Automation; IEC 61850; Smart Grid; Elkraft; Förnyelsebara energikällor; Energilager; Acceptansgräns; Produktionsnedstyrning; Kraftsystemsautomation; IEC 61850; Smarta elnät; Electric Power Engineering; Elkraftteknik;

    Sammanfattning : This thesis develops methods to increase the amount of renewable energy sources that can be integrated into a power grid. The assessed methods include i) dynamic real-time assessment to enable the grid to be operated closer to its design limits; ii) energy storage and iii) coordinated control of distributed production units. 5. 5. Car(ing) for our environment? : Consumer eco-innovation adoption and curtailment behaviors: The case of the alternative fuel vehicle

    Författare :Johan Jansson; Agneta Marell; Annika Nordlund; John Thøgersen; Umeå universitet; []
    Nyckelord :SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Diffusion of innovations DOI ; value-belief-norm VBN theory; alternative fuel vehicles AFV ; eco-innovation; early adoption; curtailment behaviors; proenvironmental attitudes; innovation characteristics; Business studies; Företagsekonomi; företagsekonomi; Business Studies;

    Sammanfattning : Determinants influencing consumer eco-innovation adoption and green curtailment behaviors in a travel context are at the center of this thesis. Previous research on green consumer behavior has uncovered that internalized personal attitudinal factors such as values, beliefs, and norms are influential in determining mainly non-consumption and post-purchase behaviors.
