    Sammanfattning : Dissertation Abstract Holm, Kristina (2008). Haematopoietic and proteomic responses to wounding stress in the common sea star Asterias rubens. Department of Zoology, University of Gothenburg, Sweden Many species of echinoderms have a remarkable ability to regenerate lost tissues, including the sea star A. rubens. LÄS MER

  2. 2. Gene expression and regeneration in ophiuroids: A study of transcriptional activity and regeneration in the temperate Amphiura filiformis and Antarctic Ophionotus victoriae

    Författare :Gavin Burns; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; echinoderm; regeneration; ophiuroid; gene expression; antarctica;

    Sammanfattning : Regeneration, in which lost or damaged tissues are re-grown, is a common phenomenon amongst animals and especially so within the ophiuroids (brittle stars) of the phylum echinodermata. The process of regeneration begins with the injury event followed by a period of cell and tissue reorganization which results in wound healing and tissue re-growth. LÄS MER

  3. 3. Genesis and Diagenesis of the Phosphatic Hardground of the Holm Dal Formation (Late Middle Cambrian), North Greenland

    Författare :Margarita Cajas; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Sammanfattning : The phosphatic hardground of the Holm Dal Formation (late Middle Cambrian) of North Greenland is composed of two parts: one basal with abundant allochthonous material and an upper part without an allochthonous component. It was formed by release of phosphate, by bacterial degradation, from organic matter which accumulated in lime mudstones on which the hardground developed. LÄS MER

  4. 4. Palaeobiology and taphonomy of early problematic fossils

    Författare :Mónika Marti Mus; Uppsala universitet; []
    Nyckelord :NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Earth sciences; Geovetenskap; Historical Geology and Paleontology; Historisk geologi och paleontologi;

    Sammanfattning : Extinct organisms that cannot be accommodated in any extant phylum are generally referred to as "problematic fossils". They are more numerous in progressively older strata and constitute an important part of the late Proterozoic and early Palaeozoic biota. LÄS MER
