21. Molecular recognition and dynamics in proteins studied by NMR
Sammanfattning : Knowledge of dynamics in protein is very important in the description of protein function and molecular recognition. The thesis investigates protein dynamics on time-scales from milli- to sub-nanosecond, with focus on the latter, using NMR spin relaxation experiments on two proteins, the 138-residue carbohydrate recognition domain of galectin-3 (Gal3C) and the 56-residue B1 domain of bacterial protein G (PGB1). 22. Probing quantum and classical noise in nano circuits
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents measurements of classical and quantum noise in nano circuits. The first part of the thesis, covers extensive measurements on charge noise sources.Low-frequency charge noise with the power spectrum close to 1/f(wherefis thefrequency) has been observed in a variety of systems. 23. Electron-lattice dynamics in π-conjugated systems
Sammanfattning : The work presented in this thesis concerns the dynamics in π-conjugated hydrocarbon systems. Due to the molecular bonding structure of these systems there exists a coupling between the electronic system and the phonons of the lattice. LÄS MER
24. Entanglement detection schemes and coherent manipulation of spin in quantum dots
Sammanfattning : The work contained in this thesis deals with two closely related topics. Papers I-III deal with charge transport statistics in nanoscale devices to investigate the presence of entanglement in the constituent electrons. We identify the contributions of entangled electron pairs to the current cross-correlations as a signature of entanglement. LÄS MER
25. Electrical Characterization of Novel Insulators in Metal-Insulator-Semiconductor Structures
Sammanfattning : This thesis comprises seven papers (A-G) and an extended introduction which puts them into context within a broader field of research. The papers deal with the electrical characterization of some different insulators and interfaces encountered within the realm of silicon based microelectronics. LÄS MER
