1. Solution-Chemically Derived Spectrally Selective Solar Absorbers : With System Perspectives on Solar Heating
Sammanfattning : This thesis consists of two parts, one dominating part concerning spectrally selective solar absorbers and one dealing with thermal solar systems. The appended papers I to VIII concern the solar absorber part, papers dealing with the systems part have not been included in the thesis. LÄS MER
2. Microscopic Characterisation of Solar Cells : An Electron Microscopy Study of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 and Cu2ZnSn(S,Se)4 Solar Cells
Sammanfattning : The sun provides us with a surplus of energy convertible to electricity using solar cells. This thesis focuses on solar cells based on chalcopyrite (CIGSe) as well as kesterite (CZTS(e)) absorber layers. These materials yield record efficiencies of 20.4 % and 11. LÄS MER
3. Preparation and Characterization of Sputter Deposited Spectrally Selective Solar Absorbers
Sammanfattning : The optical efficiency of a commercially available sputter deposited spectrally selective solar absorber was improved. The main purposes were to decrease the thermal emittance, increase the solar absorbtance of the absorber and to protect the substrate from degradation due to environmental influence. LÄS MER
4. Advanced Metal Oxide Semiconductors for Solar Energy Harvesting and Solar Fuel Production
Sammanfattning : Increasing energy consumption and its environmental impacts make it necessary to look for alternative energy sources. Solar energy as huge energy source which is able to cover the terms sustainability is considered as a favorable alternative. LÄS MER
5. Gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors
Sammanfattning : This work treats the thermal and mechanical performances of gas-filled, flat plate solar collectors in order to achieve a better performance than that of air filled collectors. The gases examined are argon, krypton and xenon which all have lower thermal conductivity than air. The absorber is formed as a tray connected to the glass. LÄS MER
