21. High Power Radio Frequency Solid-State Amplifiers and Combiners for Particle Accelerators : From module to system design approach
Sammanfattning : The rise of Big Science projects brings issues related to the energy consumption and the associated environmental impacts of such large-scale facilities. Therefore, environmentally-sustainable developments are undertaken towards the adoption of energy savings and improved energy-efficient approaches. LÄS MER
22. On the Dielectric Losses of Polyethylene at Medium and High Frequencies
Sammanfattning : AbstractAs mobile communication moves from 3G to 4G, the bandwidth used will be extended from 2 GHz to 5 GHz. The propagation loss is related to the 2.6:th power of frequency, thus a large increase in power consumption may be expected. LÄS MER
23. Waveguide-Integrated MEMS Concepts for Tunable Millimeter-Wave Systems
Sammanfattning : This thesis presents two families of novel waveguide-integrated components based on millimeter-wave microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) for reconfigurable systems. The first group comprises V-band (50–75 GHz) and W-band (75–110 GHz) waveguide switches and switchable irises, and their application as switchable cavity resonators, and tunable bandpass filters implemented by integration of novel MEMS-reconfigurable surfaces into a rectangular waveguide. 24. Scaling and Gating Attosecond Pulse Generation
Sammanfattning : High-order harmonic generation (HHG) provides the basis for attosecond light sources delivering coherent pulses in the extreme ultraviolet spectral region. Such light sources are employed for a variety of applications within imaging, attosecond spectroscopy, and high-precision frequency metrology. LÄS MER
25. Slow and stopped light by light-matter coherence control
Sammanfattning : In this thesis we study light-matter coherence phenomena related to the interaction of a coherent laser field and the so-called Λ-system, a three-level quantum system (e.g., an atom). We observe electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT), slow and stored light in hot rubidium vapor. LÄS MER
